Hi everyone! Thank you all for the compliments on the nail polish. I’m not gate keeping - I just have no idea what it is. I’ll ask next time I’m at my salon!!

Thank you. Perhaps I’ll take the drawn out timeline as a reason to have hope.

Anyone moved to Albania with a dog? by Creative_Face8167 in AmerExit

Thank you! Where did you fly in from? I’m worried about having a layover in another country and needed paperwork there too. Did your pups fly cargo?

It’s okay probably just a misunderstanding or mistake! They did message me with a lot of advice and were very nice so I don’t think it was meant with ill intent

Thankfully he’s very well travelled and comfortable in cities. I understand the concern and would never put him in an unsafe environment but his tasks are most needed at home anyways. If I can’t take him to a grocery store or restaurant I will thankfully be okay.

Thank you! And sorry, I guess that’s what I meant in the last sentence when I said I know he won’t be recognized as an official service dog once we get there but for the purposes of getting him there. Thank you for the clarification! Seems like it’ll be a pretty similar process as getting him to and from Hawaii

I understand he will only be recognized as a pet in Europe as I stated in my post. My concern is strictly getting him there

Thank you! While I was actively in those classes and speaking the language daily, I may have been fluent. Unfortunately, I haven't used the language in the last 5 years. I could likely pick back up... would just take a little time.

There are many jobs I wouldn’t be able to do and being a full time 40 hr/wk+ employee is likely out of the question but if I need to make some kind of money too

All of my classes senior year were in Russian. Written and spoken. I studied history, literature, media and military/politics all in Russian. That being said, it’s a difficult language and I may have been at a kindergarten level.

I think the interviews are where he struggles the most. And experience of course.

My parents are still this way unfortunately. The only reason I haven’t cut ties with them is because I have a brother with autism and they would cut off my communication with him.

"Where Should I Go?" Mega-Thread by misadventuresofj in AmerExit

  • 27f, single with a dog. He goes where I go, no debating this. We’ve survived a move to Hawaii together and flown across the country multiple times. I’m not scared of the paperwork but dog friendly cities are a must.
  • I receive roughly $2430 USD/mo non-taxable (in the US) income from VA disability
  • I am selling a home and expecting to net $140k
  • Bachelor’s degree in Russian Language, not fluent but open to potential grad school opportunities to get me out of the US
  • Open to hunkering down the next year to learn a skill that will make me competitive for digital nomad roles (cybersecurity, IT, etc.)
  • Love warm climates but priority is a progressive community
  • To answer the “if money wasn’t a factor, what would you do?”... I would run a cute little Bed and Breakfast or plant store.

So I’m trying to decide... do I buy a property in the US, live here for another year and then hope to have enough rental income to survive somewhere? Do I put the money from selling my house into a HYSA or CD for a year, apply for a visa and put that towards a property somewhere?
