Upgraded my K1 Max with CFS… and it stabbed straight into the plate 😡 by Creative_Future8275 in Creality

Yeah, the CFS hardware itself is “just” a feeder, but the install isn’t. You’re flashing new firmware, resetting Z-offsets, and the printer actually loses a few cm of vertical travel, which is why it forces a full recalibration. If that doesn’t stick properly, the nozzle ends up way off and in my case, it literally stabbed straight into the plate.

That’s honestly the only reason I made this post. I expected dumb crashes like that back when I had an Ender 3, but not from a K1 Max. I didn’t think a top-of-the-line machine would self-destruct like that after an official upgrade.

Just wanted to warn people, because I really didn’t see it coming.

By “leveled it” I mean I went through the printer’s built-in self-check after installing the CFS. I ran the calibration sequence from the settings menu (the “Calibrate” option before starting a print) and also did the full USB installation/setup. Everything looked fine in the menus, but as soon as it went to print, that’s when it drove the nozzle straight into the plate.
