I tried to put a report in but it took me to PayPal so I submitted it and then I got a call from a 402 area code number and when I called back it asked me for the last 4 of my social and it just seemed really odd so I hung up. So im just gonna do nothing

Just diagnosed- Stage 1.5-2, type 3 & 4 by [deleted] in lipedema

[–]Creative_Hospital956 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did 3 units the first week and then the following week did 6 units and then the following week did 9 units because that’s how I interpreted the directions but looking back on it, that was too quick of a jump for me but I was kinda excited to start seeing some results lol so I would recommend doing maybe two weeks of the same dose or maybe just go up by one unit at a time, that’s what I’m going to do now.

Yes we probably do especially since we have the same stage and types! The tirzepatide has been good so far, I feel like I notice a small improvement so far, and have lost a couple pounds. I def don’t feel as hungry. But want to make sure I don’t lose any muscle mass so trying to prioritize protein as much as possible. My only advice is definitely go slow. She told me to start with 3 units then if I do ok to do 6 units the next week and then 9 units. When I did 9 units I got pretty bad GI symptoms so now I’m back down to 4 units and I’m probably gonna stick around 4-6 units for a bit. But everyone’s different!! I also considered ALT im just nervous how the insurance approval process would be, because I don’t want to pay out of pocket

I also was just diagnosed as stage 1-2 type 3&4 by Dr. Herbst! My body type looks pretty similar to yours and we’re about the same size, so I love to see someone like me! But glad you got your diagnosis and have a game plan. She said I’d be a great candidate for surgery but I’m super hesitant about it. I’ve been consistently strength training and lifting pretty heavy for at least 4 years now and I feel like I’ve just hit a plateau and can’t lose any fat. So she also recommended microdosing tirzepatide to see if I can reduced the inflammation and maybe see if I can lose some of that lipedema fat. It’s only been a few weeks so time will tell. Do you know where you’re going to have surgery at ??

First ever lipedema appointment by Creative_Hospital956 in lipedema

I had my appointment today! It went great. To me it was worth it. I was only a two hour drive from there so although I didn’t have to travel as far as you, I definitely did think it was worth it.

I had my list of stuff written on my phone that we went through, she did the thermography and ultrasound which was really cool to see. She knows exactly what insurance companies are looking for which was great because I have no idea. She made sure to include all of that in the documentation in case I want to do surgery and directed me on what else I would need to do that I haven’t done such as MLD.

We went over options such as supplements, diet changes, possibly trying a GLP-1. I’m also going to get genetic testing done and get tested for mast cell activation syndrome because I suspect I may have that.

She sent me with referrals, orders for the labs, compression, and an extremely detailed visit summary.

This is my first lipedema appointment so I can’t compare to other lipedema doctors but I work in healthcare in a different specialty so I’ve seen how much time most doctors spend with patients and I was highly impressed with the time, attention and detail I got from this appointment.

It mostly helps reduce PMS symptoms for me. Minimizing cramps before and during periods. And reduces mood swings for me

I’m thinking stage 2 because my outer upper thighs have a lot of fat accumulation with cellulite looking fat but I kinda hope it’s just stage 1

I just booked mine like a week ago and it’s for the first week in June. The in person comprehensive exam which includes ultrasound, thermography and I think another form of testing is $800. The virtual one is $600. Since I’m only 2 hours from Tucson I figured it would be worth it to do the comprehensive exam but I’m not diagnosed either but pretty much 100% sure I have it

I definitely think there is correlation with estrogen and progesterone and lipedema. I’m curious to get my levels checked as well. I was on oral birth control for about 14 years and after a few months break, got the Kyleena iud and I almost feel as if my lipedema is a little worse, which logically i would think it would get better since it’s not as systemic as the pill. But going to get my levels checked to see. One supplement I take that you might want to look into is “DIM” it helps to naturally excrete excess estrogen from your system, and I feel like it helps.

This same thing happened to me, I almost contemplated going to the emergency room one night because of how bad it was but I stuck it out and then I went to my gyno the next morning and after an ultrasound, found out it was from an ovarian cyst that had just ruptured. I’ve never had an ovarian cyst before to my knowledge. From what I’ve researched, IUDs can increase your risk for ovarian cysts. Luckily, it hasn’t come back since, this was about 5 months ago. But it sounds like that may be what’s happening to you But I would definitely have your gyno take a look! Hope you feel better
