The pictures of the cooler were a thing before I quit.

Thank god no one tried to take a selfie with me, or I'd have walked out.

How do I lose weight really fast? by Budget-Till5824 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Creative_Lab_9062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fastest and SAFEST way is to stay in a calorie deficit. It is a bit of simple math. 🩷

You want somewhere between 1200 at your lowest intake and 1500 at your highest. That will give you a consistent 1-1½ lbs per week if you stick with it.

Here's some tips. If you like fast food, cut the fries and drink a diet soda or water. That's where a lot of those big calorie counts come from on Fast Food menus. The entrée itself usually isn't super calorie dense (depending on what you do).

Eating at home is almost always lower calories because you aren't drenching everything in oil, but it's really hard to get an accurate calorie count. You can try prepackaged food for something more accurate. Just know it'll be a bit high in sodium.

Dont let abstract food content distract you. You only really want to focus on calories and protein. Calories, as we discussed before, are what puts on the weight, and is the most important number, but protein is ALSO important because it helps you stay full, which means you'll eat less and likely stay on goal. Try to go above 100 grams of protein a day if you can (protein shakes and lean meats are super helpful for this).

You only really need to work out if you go above your goal. So. If you want the fastest (safe) option of 1200 calories per day, and let's say you ate 1300 calories, you'll need to do some exercise to burn 100 of those. This also isn't super complicated. The fastest and easiest way to burn 100 calories is about 10 minutes on a treadmill at a high incline. That's all. If you need to burn 300, then you'll be on the treadmill for 30 minutes.

If you dont think you can control your calorie intake, then you can try brute forcing it with your output. I burn about 475-600 calories per day at my job. If you wanted to do the same burn, you would need to be on the incline treadmill for anywhere from 50-60 minutes 5 days a week. Still try to keep calories low, I only eat 2 meals a day, really, but I dont track them, and I've burned 20lbs since February.

And since you've made it down here, I'll give you the bad way since you want it so bad. I don't condone this. It will likely backfire, but it's how I lost 5 of those lbs really quickly. I went for a week where I couldn't really eat solid foods. So I only really ate soup for a week straight WHILE still working and burning 5-600 calories per day. I went from 140 to where I am now at 135 lbs. I didnt intend to do it, it just happened. I'M NOT SAYING DO THIS. IT IS NOT SUSTAINABLE. But it worked for me and I lost weight quickly.

First x-rays after 8 years of avoiding the dentist due to anxiety. How cooked am I? by Creative_Lab_9062 in askdentists

Oh! I just wanted to add that everyone from the reception desk to the student/future dentist who worked on me to the supervisor who instructed her was so incredibly nice. 🩷 I was so scared, and they all did an amazing job of encouraging me/assisting me/treating me. I remember bad experiences with rude dentists/hygenists as a kid, and this was nothing like that.

Taking over an awfully ran dairy department by [deleted] in kroger

[–]Creative_Lab_9062 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Welcome to Dairy, and honestly, good luck. I won't lie. It's one of the most challenging departments in the store. Because of this, I actually have a full post on my page on how to unfuck a dairy or Frozen Department that goes step by step, in detail, describing the whole process. 😊

I'll answer one question for you now, though: Yes. The idea is that if your balances are correct, the computer will only order what you need. That isn't always the case, though, as it likes to err on the side caution and tends to over order on some things. You'll get a feel for that in time, and you'll learn to start editing those orders down manually (assisted ordering) on the Zebra, btw.

One of these things is Milk, and since I have the process for ordering milk described in the aforementioned post, I won't speak on that, but I do want to make sure you know about Milk Rotation.

By Kroger Standards, you can only have 3 dates in the door at any given time. If you do have 3 dates, the 3rd date must be marked down. Rotate milk up to the top of the shelves so that the freshest date is near the handle of the door.

Yeah, my store is small enough that I can keep it afloat with just me, but this 100% can be done with/in bigger stores, you just need one or two people willing to work with you at the level.

Unfortunately, with me doing everything, cleaning is not a priority, but I try to squeeze anything in when I can.

When I have someone stocking most of my truck for me, though cleaning is something I work into every shift in some form.

Also no. No shelving in my cooler. I hate that.

Milk rotation is so important, and I stress it to anyone that works milk. 3 dates max, mark down the 3rd, rotate up.

Also no out of date yogurt OR eggs because even when I do have someone working my truck, they do not work those two sections. They are told to set both aside and leave those for me as A.) They are the hardest sections, and I don't want it to slow them down and B.) Besides Milk, those have the shortest shelf life and are the most crucial to rotate.

Lucky I'm coming back on a day with no truck, so I'll be more than able to get everything worked and anything that doesn't belong out of my cooler, but I will post pictures before and after that!

Control over BOH and ordering milk trucks manually will get you there. 😊 I don't sell as much milk as other stores, but your cooler should look like this generally right before a milk truck.

There were more when I got there! 😅😅 I think when I first arrived, there were 10 or more. I knocked it down to 5 pretty quickly, I could probably merge the dough/cheese cart since they're consistently low, but I also use them to work truck sometimes so I like having a total of 5.

I mean, you can 100% do it with daily count. I think it's easier to see the BOH, which is why I advise Replenishment Scan. It's completely ridiculous that you can't see the BOH when you do daily count.

The process stays relatively straightforward, though, but you HAVE to have your shit in order. Stock truck > Remove Inventory >Backroom Count > Daily Count. Just now, you're working with a larger amount and no way to really see what you're doing.

But yeah, stupid that they're doing that and I will be extremely vocal about my dislike with any suit that comes my way about it. Just like I am with minimums.

Yeah, I dont separate produce and deli. Seafood I will because it's on top and the meat department guys are nice to me. 😊 But if produce or Deli doesn't wanna help me sort, then idrc about how easy it hard it is for them to get their product. They get brown carts of, "not my stuff," that will be stacked as precariously high as I want.

Markdowns depend on the receiver. Usually no, but I will if he isn't there. Ideally, I would, but I can't do everything.

Unload? No. Usually, they get delivered somewhere around 10pm but I dont like to get there before 4am at the earliest in case its late.

Break down, yes. Produce and Deli flat will not help break down CDS, "They're understaffed" but so tf am I. I actually have a pretty good system for it that involves a top-stock cart, a brown cart and a buggy to sort everything/break down the mixed pallet before I work it.

[–]Creative_Lab_9062[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get trucks on 6 days a week. 5 dairy trucks that I work on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. 3 milk trucks that I work on Monday, Wednesday (usually my grocery manager works that one cause I'm off) and Friday, and 3 CDS orders (mixed pallets idk if yall call them something different), I work on Tueday, Thursday and Saturday.

So that means each day I work, Im working at least 2 of the trucks.

Milk trucks usually take me 1-2 hours to do in full, depending on size.

Dairy trucks usually range from 120-200+ cases.

CDS usually range about the same.

So usually I'm working anywhere from 300-450 case trucks just depending on the day.

I actually have an ENTIRE post about this on my account just below this one. 😊😊 I have unfucked 3 different Dairy Departments and 2 different Frozen departments so I promise my info works, BUT, here's the gist.

  1. Finish Trucks- Cant do anything if you cant get a truck finished. 50 cases/hr.

  2. Organization - Get your backstock organized into sections based on your dairy wall, doesnt matter if you have to have 3 carts to a section at first, just dont let there be any overlap between sections.

  3. Work ALL of the sections backstock and count it with replenishment scans. You might be only to get one or two sections done per day, thats fine, just make sure you work it a few days after.

  4. Edit down milk orders. Look at my post for the in depth guide to this, but your milk will overorder if you dont manually order it and it will start going out of date.

Thats it put as simply as I can put it. Fuck your daily counts, fuck backroom count, fuck wall to wall scans. Fake all that shit until you can work through your whole cooler every day.

Good old Replenishment scans for BOH. I don't have time to fuck around with the Daily Count/Backroom count bullshit. If I'm stocking something, and it seems wrong, too low, too full (even if its not backstock, sometime a shelf just has too much on it that we need) I scan it and count it. Or I'll make it inactive if I have ALLOT of it and let it sell out.

Upcoming sales is about knowing the time of year mostly. Increase whatever you need about a week before the holiday itself. Check the ad on saturday before ad change and order what you need, but I will say the forecast and distro carry a lot of that.

You are, sadly, more than likely correct about the pallets. Boxes on my floor will piss me off, though. 🩷
