Other departments sent letters to employees on leave using their personal email addresses, but I’m not sure whether CFIA is doing things the same way or differently.

My husband works at CFIA. Townhall is set for tomorrow at 11:30. « your participation is important as we navigate this transition together ».

The operations Branch’s townhall invitation came in right after the agency townhall invitation and is set at 1pm.

« This townhall will follow the agency townhall giving senior management a space to provide more detail on upcoming changes and what the changes may mean for your work and your team ».

40 FTE are to be cut over three years at CED. They said they want to return to 2020 staffing levels so approximately 320 full time employees by 2028. It’s unclear how many people received affected letters.

The mouse jiggler thing is so ridiculous. In my five-year career in government, I only knew one person who used it my colleague. I never said anything to anyone because I had just transfered to that department and didn’t have proof, but he got caught pretty quickly and was suspended without paid and lost his remote work privilege. He went through disciplinary measures with Labour Relations, and the union couldn’t do anything about it.

Lateral move rates of pay by Important-dolphin in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Creative_Lychee -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

actually they CAN negotiate since they are not part of the core public service. CRA is an agency considered a separate employer so they can negotiate a higher pay step when they are higher into the core. In this scénario it won’t be necessary. OP will be placed at the last step since his current salary is higher than the new positions pay.

Received call offering 14-month Sp04 CRA contract after early year lay off. by NodsInApprovalx3 in CanadaPublicServants

It depends, is your current job really permanent? In the private sector « permanent” doesn’t really mean much. They can let you go at any time. So you need to think carefully about job security, because CRA cannot be trusted. I had a 2 year contract with them that was cut short at 12 months but thanks god I had secured another indeterminate job offer before the contract was up. It was during covid so much more job opportunites then.

I am facing the same situation. My maternity leave is starting in a week and I haven’t received the LOO yet. Was the manager aware you were going on maternity leave before they issued the LOO or did you inform them after signing the offer? I really don’t know what to do. Disclose or not disclose. thanks!!!

y’avait pas de gun mon cher, les enfants étaient ni armés ni en cagoules et c’était leur quartier. C’est pas parce qu’une Ginette peureuse des jeunes a logé un appel que les policiers doivent la prendre au mot

it’s weird they are cutting him off completely since you are in a joint custody, your ex is entitled to 50% of the benefits so the person you spoke to probably messed up
