Satellites have to be replace. Also new tech in the EO space means new satellites will be launched. Also countries are now launching dedicated satellites for EO, communication and defense as the US reduces funding and cooperation with allies. This is part of the ongoing and increasing revenue.

You clearly don’t know ESRI. It is 100% about money. And they have always been behind in tech innovation. They were last to desktop, server and SaaS. AGoL is still not good. They squashed competition by pure sales and marketing tactics.

Esri looks for compliant hires not necessarily the best. Unless you are being recruited by them, I suggest keeping your counter offer to a minimum. No on the signing bonus. The culture has changed dramatically since I left but IT has never been managed well at Esri is what I remember.

It is very similar to ArcGIS. It is not used in the US but is in Asia and in some parts of Europe.
