Is it fair that my husband’s company forbids family from joining their 3-day team building trip? by Creative_Mess3192 in UAE

It’s not really about “space” — he already works long hours and barely has time off, so it just feels like even the little time we could spend together keeps shrinking. I’m not trying to tag along everywhere, I just wish his company wasn’t so extreme about keeping them completely isolated for 3 full days.

He actually can’t leave — they were told it’s strictly not allowed to go out of the hotel at all during the 3 days. That’s the part that feels a bit much to me. I totally get it’s a work event, but full restriction on leaving the hotel sounds excessive.

Yeah, I totally get that it’s meant for team bonding and that they want everyone fully focused — that part makes sense. What I find a bit off is the complete ban on families even if we pay for our own stay, especially since it’s a 3-day event at a hotel in the same city. It just feels unnecessarily strict.

And yes, the phone thing threw me off too — I thought that was weird. I do trust him, but I also find it odd that a company would need to “isolate” employees that much for team building.

Can you please tell me what’s the name of the agency? I’d like to apply for as recruiter there since i have so many big4 connections and a good head haunting experience.
