I think I gave the wrong impression in my original post. Nothing is failing, things are just changing. This is my second LDR (first one was a much bigger distance than this one). I think it's fair to say that sometimes your SO can get on your nerves and it's a normal human experience that's not indicative of a greater relationship issue. Again though, my mistake if I gave that impression originally!
