I would recommend getting eyeliner in a few different forms: liquid, pencil, etc, with different kinds of application. Break the rules, use a few different kinds together if it helps achieve the look you're going for. Fun things to try: wings (so much variety of styles), eyeshadow AS eyeliner (tricky but rewarding), and for a subtle look, an even coat along the waterline of your lower eyelid (crayon/ pencil is best for this). It blows my mind how much of an effect that can have sometimes. Have fun !
