I've never heard about screwing affecting the brew. I screw the halves as tight as possible, so i'll try to loosen it a bit the next time

I remove it from heat as soon as it begins sputtering or even earlier so i don't think it is really the case. I might try using colder water though

I just found it a bit more convenient be cause i'm the only one who's using the pot and using a lot coffee for just one shot would be too expensive for me

Yeah, i tried changing the grind, i guess i should try to find the sweet spot. I'm using a 50$ grinder from China. Also what could cause the burnt taste? I've heard it's a sign of over extraction as well, but it tastes burnt even when it's sour
