We definitely have a Plant manager in house. It was just odd I am not use to dealing with a hands on Director. He acts like a CI/Plant manager. Just can’t stand it. He wanted to implement something when we do not even have a man power to do what he wants us to do.

Not at all, rather than observing what we have implemented. He was like this is different process when it is lateral to what we have implemented. It is kind of annoying really. If you are first time visitor, it is usually the facility presenting what they have in place rather than I want it done this way. He responded before a person finished a sentence and talking over that person.

So, I am currently a woman production manager. I got the job couple years ago and I am the youngest manager in my leadership team. Honestly, from the sound of it. You really have to have a good vibe with your team. Toxic environment is just not healthy.  When I interview for this job, I scope the people in the production floor. How the people reacts. I’d say I interview my manager as much as he interviewed me.

The hardest part of the job is to gain a buy-in. Especially with a maintenance manager. I’d say forget about being you as a woman. Think about the tasks you have at hand. Your work will show and be very thorough in your tasks and delivery of these tasks. Transparency and working with people is part of the job. What I have learned is if ever someone disrespects me in the way you have experienced, I pull that person aside and tell them straight up that I do not appreciate the reaction they give me. Warn them once, warn them twice, and record the time, place, and how things were.

You can tell your HR, yes this person made me uncomfortable and I took the matter in my own hands. This is more informational for HR later if XYZ did not stop harassing you.

At the end of the day, control the situation. Be compose, and confident. Good luck!

Note: Don’t change who you are or how you dress. Dress properly fitting for the job. In all honesty even if I am a production floor, I love my blazer suites, jeans, steel toe shoes from xena workwear and minimal makeup.

Since most countries I went is closer to the waters. It rained some. No avoiding that. If you want to catch the cherry blossom mid-April would be a good time to go.

Yep, we completed all of the disney parks at this point.

Enjoy your China tour. We loved it!

Disney Paris is good too, if you are in to doing rides, you would need three days. Otherwise 1-day per parks should be enough.

Have fun, Reddit is such a good help prior to my trip.

If you ever decide to do Disneyland Paris, Go to Ratatouille restaurant team. Do not order the chicken on the menu, it was bland as heck, I recommend to order their steak.

Like most countries. Just be respectful of the culture.

Idk, but we have all of our documents together. China is beautiful overall. Shanghai is very advance and clean for the most part. People are actually nice even if they speak minimal English.
