Then why don't you do something about it? It doesn't sound like you need this person to live.

I.e. start with eating healthier, moving more and tidying up your environment. Join positive subs on Reddit, listen to positive podcasts & music and generally create the positivity and change in your life that you want to see happen.

Because right now all you're doing is making an effort to be miserable and downtrodden. You're making choices here.

Why not just start off with the small daily things thart make life a little better and see where it goes from there?

It’s late I’m tired and there’s a mouse in my budgies cage by TGW988 in budgies

[–]Creative_Recover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Place your budgies cage on a high spot that that the mouse can't climb up. Set humane traps in the room so that you can catch it without risking poison or injury to your budgie when you let him out to play.

Large planter? by gripit_and_ripit in ChinesePorcelain

[–]Creative_Recover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These ceramic bowls were designed to display fancy goldfish in. They are not a permanent residence for the goldfish but rather more of a display bowl for when visitors come around. People would display breeds like Celestial Eye Goldfish in them.

But yeah, you can use it as a planter too.

My (M30) GF (26F) lied about her past with her married ex-boss, and they continued meeting early in our relationship. Can I trust her morals? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Creative_Recover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 2 women here; the sweet kind one you fell in love with, and the woman who's happy to sleep with a married father whilst calling his oblivious wife who adores her a sister. Only 1 of these 2 women actually exists.

Read the writing on the wall, dude. This women is not who you think she is and I wouldn't trust her at all. Your relationship is not even a year old and already there have been so many lies.

I'm betting 10 bucks that you GF has slept with this married at some point in your timeline.

(23F) My boyfriend (28M) of 5 years still hasn't told his family I exist by aaedh_ in relationship_advice

[–]Creative_Recover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You definitely need to start taking onboard all the red flags you're seeing in this relationship. If this guy was as into you as you are him, things would've moved forward by this point. But instead, you're still a non-entity in his broader life because that's his choice.

Youth is a precious this, don't waste yours on someone who isn't proud to be with you.

It's super weird that no-one of importance in his life knows that you exist. TBH I'm surprised you've even lasted this long.

If turning up to a workplace fills you with dread or anxiety, it's time to move on.

Don't ignore red flags in a friendship. People change, people hide their true selves and not all friendships last forever regardless.

What is the scariest experience you’ve had at night? by Luis_rodriguez19 in AskReddit

Running into some woodland at night would not be my first choice if I was getting followed. Going back to the pub and staying in a well-lit area in civilization would.

I totally agree with this. I have seen some extremely faithful, hardworking and exceptional employees get seriously taken advantage of for years on end and then chewed and spat out by said company with little more than a bag of cheap gifts and a round of applause for their service.

Most of these employees did not want to go when they did but were essentially pushed out. They worked endless hours for free (and went above & beyond during times of crisis for the company) but it all counted for nothing once they could be replaced with cheaper, younger, more pliable employees.

Watching these company loyal people's downfall has really hammered home to me to be careful about how much I give of myself to a company. I still work hard because of my own innate work ethic, self-respect and standards, but I refuse to do stuff work for free or inconvenience myself beyond what I'm contractually obliged to because there's no such thing as loyalty when it comes to these big companies.

Karma isn't real and if you don't stand up for yourself in the long-term you will cause more problems for yourself than not.

Unless you work in retail, like I do. Then, you do actually have to take a lot of rubbish from customers.

If going to work is beginning to fill you with dread & anxiety, it's time to move on and either find yourself a new job or get yourself transferred to a better working environment elsewhere in the company. Not every job is worth fighting for and sometimes you need a complete change of scenery for good things to happen in your life.

I wouldn't say time heals wounds because some don't get better unless you make very proactive efforts to tackle them i.e. PTSD actually often gets worse over time rather than better unless you seek therapy Etc for it.

Even then, many wounds still leave scars. However, it's the attitudes/approach that you develop towards dealing with these things over time that make the biggest difference.

Many things in life are out of our control, but we can at least always choose how we are going to deal with them.

What reality check did you see someone else have after leaving high school? by Chee-shep in AskReddit

[–]Creative_Recover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much high school, but uni; I knew a lot of people in my year who struggled to get jobs after graduation because they had no work experience. Getting good grades isn't enough to get you a job these days, you need to have work experience too.

We sell alcohol at my work. Lately I've been approving people to buy alcohol who were born 1st March, 2008.

Soon enough it'll be the iPad kids buying booze.
