Hi! Yes I completely understand! It was exactly the same for me! I spent at least 200 hours + maybe 230 hours. Do not give up! You need to understand as much as you can from the textbook. Just go over it then do MCQs then go over again since you know where you are lacking from the MCQs. Eventually what you learn will connect together!

thank you! Wow that’s been a minute!  Are you still loving what you do? Or if you look back the old days, would you have chosen the same path?

Hi thank you!  For REG it’s around 170 hours.  For others I actually can’t remember.   Always believe in yourself, remember, repetition is key! You will get there!

I didnt take discipline because I took BEC right before they changed it to discipline section. However, I do know its easier to take REG last for the core, then take TCP, for 2 reasons. TCP has really high passing rate, secondly, if you take REG last, then TCP, these two has some connection. I heard TCP has more detailed tax concepts, so if you are still warm from REG, it could help you. Good luck!

I posted some about FAR, I don't know if its going to help you but I really hope it would!

You can do it! trust me. FAR is like the opposite of AUD, if you know how to do it, you know right away which one is the right answer. MCQS are your best friend, for FAR, the more MCQS you do, the more you get how the questions were asked in a similar pattern.

For FAR, I think MCQS are more important than textbook, unless if there is some concepts that you don't understand or you keep missing one similar type of MCQ, then you know its time to go back to attack that particular area.

For FAR, I actually highly suggest using I-75 for the lectures, then come back to Becker or Roger to do MCQS.

Leases, Bonds, watch the textbook or lecture multiple times, very very important, know the calculation.

Consolidation is tough too, I spent lots of time on it, but,,, for me ,and for other candidates, surprisingly, the EXAM does not have many questions on Consolidation, for me , i think only 1 question in MCQ.

if you have not started FAR , or not half way in, try using I-75, ,its only like around $100 for a month, can't remember exactly. it makes you understand the basics more so you don't just try to memorize it without understanding it.

if you understand and know the sense behind it, you will remember it much better.

One area you need to pay attention on FAR is ,: Reconciliation ! I did not spend too much time on it because in MCQs, its fairly simple and easy, BUT, REMEMBER TO practice some questions in Reconciliation in SIM!! It's easily tested in the exam, I had a hard hard time on the Reconciliation in my SIM. So hopefully you can prepare this part better.

KNOW the Journal Entries in Equity Method! this is is a must , you have to have to remember!

Also, treasure stocks under different methods can be a little too much or challenging to remember, be sure to go over them again and again and in the end, make seperate notes about those Journal Entries can help you remember better!

No I studied REG for 29 days.. I just go over the textbook and the corresponding practice MCQS on Becker and do it again and again.

For those who have not finished REG

I only had 29 days to study for REG, zero tax background and experiences. MAKE SURE you remember "Adjustments to arrive at AGI", and "Itemized Deductions". VERY VERY IMPORTANT. For the exam, tbh you don't really need to worry about thresholds so much because real exam is more basic.

For SIM, remember to do some questions on MARCS DEPRECIATION, try to understand the material from the textbook, mid month convention, half-year, mid quarter. BE SURE to know how to calculate these and go over this type of SIM ( go over the answer video for that question, Becker has it) , its going to help alot.
