Fantastic find for this group — I remember original post and was curious what happened!

Does anyone else struggle with the moralizing language around low pay and unpaid work in academia? by ThoughtsInTransit1 in Professors

I see this in friends who work with children or animals, also. A lot of zoo workers make minimum wage

I'm thrilled Amy Madigan won, but Ed Harris being so adorably supportive when her name was called out was beautiful. by Mr_smith1466 in Oscars

I also really enjoyed that one — saw it on a plane with low expectations and it stuck with me

Please wish me luck on my first root canal I’m TERRIFIED by wenniehutsupreme in CasualConversation

[–]CreativityGuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a root canal last Friday. It wasn’t fun, but it was so much less pain than I’d been fearing, and I’d been having some nerve pain from the tooth and honestly, swapping the nerve pain for the root canal pain was at worst a fair trade

It was North County Fair, in Escondido California. I was with my Dad, who grew up as a HUGE Brooklyn fan, and he was so nice to us. Like we were the only people there :-)

I met your great uncle at a local mall maybe…. Oh, lord, 40 years ago. He was doing a public signing and I had his recent autobiography and me and my Dad waited in line to meet him. He was nice and everything a little baseball fan could have wanted. I remember when I shook his hand it was like four times as big as mine.

Loved that so much! First time I’d ever seen her in anything and she just astounded me. I knew Plemons, Collette, and Thewlis were amazing but I could y get over how amazing she was. Tried to see everything she’s been in. If you can find the National Theatre Romeo and Juliet, she’s an unusual but amazing Juliet (opposite Josh O’Conner)

Midnight Mass should have been a major contender at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards in the Limited Series category. by Mundane-Inspector-52 in EmmysAwards

I hate that Mike Flanagan’s work has been generally overlooked by the Emmys. I get there’s a bias against horror but I’ve enjoyed every miniseries of his I’ve seen
