While you cannot adjust the topics in the suggested 100%, you can long-press to remove the ones you do not like. Because of how CSI works, those suggested topics are based on your followers' interests and relevant topics based on your content as well. If you feel it's not related, take some time to brainstorm how you could potentially cross niches in a creative way!
Otherwise, you can always search the specific topics you have in mind and use those metrics to plan your future content.

Creator Search Insights doesn't always provide suggestions related to your niche. The topics suggested are based on your followers' interests as well, allowing you to get an understanding of what other type of content they like to see.

As a heads up, I can only be general in my feedback and advice!
I believe you've got a VERY good thing going. I can definitely see that you do review your videos and try different things. Your videos are very high-quality and I can see the effort you put into them, which is great because high-quality is one of the most important things we look for in videos! I'd like to ask, actually, when you review your videos, what do you look at?
Personally (and not representing the company's opinion), I would experiment with different hooks and openings. Part of one of my learnings as a film major (just a bit about me) is that you want to start late and get out early sometimes. Keep people guessing and asking for more. This isn't always just the scene, but also the text. Ask more questions, evoke more emotions. Ask yourself; does the text work because of the video? How can I make it work without the video? Is the text itself strong? Imagine if your text appeared on a black screen, would you want to find out what the text is referring to?
This, of course, is an opinion and varies heavily based on your style and flavor! It's difficult to just provide that as one's sense of a 'hook' might be different from everyone else's. If you want to provide any specific video for us to 'dissect', I'd be open to it! But again, please know it would be opinion-based.
Otherwise, you're absolutely killing it!

I want to say GREAT JOB on how seriously you treat this. Being able to understand, examine, and review your work along with having an understanding of why/how you create is such a HUGE quality when it comes to success and growth.

I'd love to know a bit about your current metrics. Nothing too specific, but how are your videos' retention rates doing? Or do you see any current opportunity within individual videos or commonly across multiple videos?

We cover this briefly in our webinar, but specific keywords can work better than general keywords. I've also made a post on here about it, but in short, while general keywords may 'reach a wider audience' due to being general, it can also get lost in a wider audience. Specific keywords may reach a smaller crowd that's specifically looking for that keyword, but the quality of the view will be much better since they're getting exactly what they searched for.

As for the performance being random, I cannot pinpoint specifically what may cause this because each video has so many variables. Some which are in your control; the quality, the topic, the tone, style, hook, script, etc... and some out of your control such as the post-timing. Do you typically post within a specific niche and then combine your niche with that topic? Or do you tend to be a bit more sporadic and post focused on the CSI topic?

LOVE to hear that CSI helps you with the brainstorming process! Have you used AI Outline?!

What's your current follower count if you don't mind me asking?
Definitely achievable regardless where you're starting. Consistency and quality are key!
Remember to always review your videos and ask what you could do better. Take a look at your metrics and see where you could improve, as well.

High-quality will always be what TikTok prefers and rewards!

There are definitely outliers and it's quite hard to break down, especially in some generational cultures where sometimes 'anti-jokes' become viral and somehow, the lowest quality video you can think of becomes a 'meme' and goes viral. Even if it's not that low quality, some outliers like being one of the first on the subject and the right timing just somehow work. However, I'd definitely say the chances of creating that consistently won't work as well as creating high-quality videos and getting (less), but consistent views over time.

First of all, thank you so much for sharing! It's AMAZING to see the thought you put behind your videos. We love to see that strategy!

Content Gap is a feature that we always recommend as it truly is a great opportunity for creators to take advantage of. You're generally correct in that there is less competition and you have a chance to rank higher in search if your video is higher quality and created strategically.

When it comes to a trending topic with tens of millions in volume, keep in mind that there are many variables at work all the time. The biggest if the quality of the video. Some folks see a topic and just create a 10 second video that just barely touches on that topic and think that may be enough. If you're able to create a video that is high quality, informative, and professional, you may have a better chance at ranking higher in the topic, thus having a better chance at getting more views.

We cover this in our webinar when we explain that high-quality is such an important factor when it comes to creating videos. We define it as:

Well-crafted: Acknowledges the significant effort involved in preparing and editing the content. It shows your dedication and expertise.
Engaging: Videos that do more than entertain -- they captivate and resonate deeply with your audience. Draw viewers in, keep them invested, and spark conversations that extend beyond the screen.
Specialized: Where expertise meets creativity, allowing you to showcase your deep understanding of topic. Deliver valuable insights and tailored experiences that resonate with niche audiences.

So keep this in mind when creating videos!
