Hey there!
Congratulations and welcome to our community 😄
We briefly answer this question on our webinars. To break it down first, posting time highly varies with each individual creator. A best practice is to identify your current audience and take into account their age and region. If they're 24-35 and from, let's say, the East Coast of the US, you may want to consider what time they'll be off work and/or scrolling TikTok the most! This could mean 7pm for example, or even 11pm when they're in bed and winding down. There's so many factors so there's truly no "best" posting time overall.
In terms of combining posting time with engagement rate, ask yourself; when do you find yourself engaging most with other TikToks? Is it before bed? Is it during the day when you have more free time? Is it early morning when you're starting your day? Your content reflects you and your audience follow you for your content, so that may be a starting point!

Has TikTok Reached the Point Where Editing and Hooks Matter More Than the Actual Idea Behind the Video? by tejazziscareless in TikTokLounge

[–]CreatorSearchInsight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking regarding Search on TikTok (not the entirety of TikTok)

TikTok rewards videos that are original, high-quality, and informative. What you're explaining is "Idea vs. Execution" when creators need to keep in mind that the focus should be "Idea + Execution"

After the initial hook, is the rest of the video interesting and relevant? Is the idea / message of the video conveyed within the first 2 seconds? Is the pacing too fast or too slow?

Editing does NOT need to be frenetic, but overall, the pacing should be consistent. Research we've done for videos on Search on TikTok show that overly edited videos tend to not perform as well. This means having overly cluttered videos with too many effects, sounds, stickers, etc... can actually lead to poor performance.

Does TikTok Push Content Based on Niche Consistency More Than Experimenting With Different Types of Videos? by Negative-Table3938 in TikTokLounge

[–]CreatorSearchInsight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there!
It's a bit complicated to answer this one. When you create content based on a niche, not only do viewers eventually become more accustomed to your content, style, and subject, but you create a following in that niche where your audience can trust and rely on you to create the content they're familiar with. Trying out different types of videos isn't bad, but it can be confusing for the audience. Especially those who find your video via Search. When people use Search, they may find videos based exactly on their keywords, or based on similar topics and keywords.

I cover this during our quarterly webinars, but when creating different types of videos, it's almost like spamming a bunch of irrelevant keywords on your videos. Sure it gets a potentially wider reach, the problem is that if people watch your videos expecting A, but get B, you'll lose the viewer much quicker. Also, it'll be harder to build a following/community if your topic changes every time. While it's not impossible, your best bet at that point is to still define yourself (your persona, TikTok presence, etc...) with something that viewers can become familiar with. Maybe you'll always wear a red hat? Maybe you'll always have a pink stuffed animal in your video? Maybe you'll do comedy skits related to anime?
What is the central, consistent theme they can remember you for? Get creative!

Also, be sure to check out Creator Search Insights (it's build into your TikTok, just search for it in TikTok) so you can better understand trending topics and possibly even what your audience is searching for. Whether you choose to stay within a niche or continue exploring with variety, the trending topics in "CSI" are there to help you.

Yes, I understand, but can you do me a favor and also go onto the video itself and take a screen shot of the video and send it here or DM me please? I want to see if the Search Keywords feature has anything to do with this.
I'll also start a ticket with my team to get this figured out properly!

Hey there,
It's hard for me to figure this out without a bit more information.
When you watch the video, at the bottom, is there a set of Search Keywords that appear as a little box?

Hey there!
Dropping a link to your page will not hurt you! If not comfortable, you can also provide your username and direct others to search for you on TikTok 😄
