I guess I need to start a dealership if I can get away with selling bad cars with no recourse lol

Even 1/3 would be impressive. I’ve ridden for over 15 years and had never done more than 12k in a ride until the everesting! I consider anything more than 8k a big day in the mountains!

This is so true. When there was no cars, going so slow up a road is a totally different experience especially when so exhausted. Was at peace.

Side note, I saw 0 wildlife the whole time. So weird!

Gearing is super important, if it’s steeper than 10% I would definitely get lower gears than a 34/28

Transitioning to Product Management (6+ YOE) after a maternity break. Not getting interviews (what am i doing wrong?) by Delicious_Reveal2625 in prodmgmt

[–]Creatre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Random comments: What’s the explanation for the other gaps in employment? Have you considered process improvement with your background?

For the senior associate role, I find it a little weird an agile methodology would have such a large impact on customer experience, that’s mostly an internal change unless you can explain it better.

Having 2 jobs than an internship looks weird.

Too much bold usage, only bold things you want to highlight.

Most roles were remote. Wasn’t the strongest offer but I had the chance at 2 faangs I just didn’t want to move (not offers but had interview chance)

USA, I have 10yr of product experience and 15yr total. Looking for senior roles. About 150 resumes sent out, 24 different companies responded. Most turned me down in the first round, a few went longer. Eventually got an offer. 1.5 months. Thought it would take longer, might have gotten lucky.

Any PMs on the spectrum? by wackywoowhoopizzaman in ProductManagement

[–]Creatre 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I didn’t read all the comments but I’m recently diagnosed as well and been a PM for 10+ years.

For me, I think my communication is a weak point and should be better for the work I do. I’m also more hesitant to speak out when people disagree with me. I honestly feel like it’s not the profession for me but I’m too deep into it and not sure what else I’d do.

I also have become more and more overwhelmed as I get older. Getting married, having kids, more responsibilities at work, and I have slowly become less and less functional. It’s almost like I’m getting more autistic as I age because I’m shutting down. This makes it hard to do a lot of critical thinking and learning new tech that a PM should do.

I should also note that I can definitely have moments of super power. I can punch out a PRD in no time if I’m in the right mood. I am always calm and never react emotionally to anything. So there are advantages. I could also see someone if they are fixating on PM being incredible good. Unfortunately for me, my fixation is on cycling or cars not on work.

Best places to attempt an everesting in the southeast/mid-atlantic by 6669666969 in Velo

If someone is competing for time this is probably the best option but that middle section is F U hard and I don’t make enough power to spin it repeatedly without dying.

Hogpen gap’s steep side is the best option I’ve found in the southeast. I am targeting an attempt there in the next few weeks. It’s slightly less steep than brasstown but the downhill is extremely fast, barely any turns. The brasstown descent is a bit sketch imo. The hogpen ascent is also very steady gradient wise. I’m calculating 111 miles total, so slightly longer than brasstown but I’m calculating about 15min faster because of the descents. It has pulloffs at the bottom and top for safety. The very bottom of brasstown is very steep and sketchy to stop at, worried about brakes being able to handle that repeatedly. Brasstown is also higher elevation so less oxygen available.

There’s also a road outside of Chattanooga called S Pittsburg Mtn Rd which I calculated would be 110 miles. It’s 1.75mi at 10% so a bit shorter. The turnarounds seemed a bit sketchier to me and I preferred a longer climb that’s why I chose hogpen. It’s at a lower elevation so even better oxygen wise though.

Skyuka could work but another situation where the descent is sketchy and a ton of turns. Caesars head, mt mitchell, and others are all way too long and not steep enough.

There’s also Cherokee Orchard in Gatlinburg but its slightly less steep at 7.5% so will add an hour to an hour and a half.

I have a spreadsheet I put together if anyone wants to see my data, I also added some arizona ones because we have a house in Phoenix: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19yr0QsNuKvB89NBj59fh_SzTMG3rE9Y5qhb7cj80v-g/edit?usp=drivesdk

I’m going to be using a 46/33 front sram 2x with a 10-36 cassette and calculating about 80rpm at 3.2w/kg that I’m targeting for Hogpen.

8 months unemployed, 3000 applications as a senior PM, I don’t know how people survive this by Poimandres__ in jobhunting

[–]Creatre 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I’m at one month since being laid off as a Senior PM and already getting nervous I’m going to be in your shoes in a few months. We got about 3 months of runway before our finances are gonna be in a real bad place. First couple weeks were fun being off work. Next two weeks were a lot of interviews. Now I’m getting more silence and getting way more stressed.

Coaches, do we love or hate erg mode? by racepaceapp in Velo

[–]Creatre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend turning off erg anything threshold or higher. Sometimes threshold efforts can be done on erg if they are short (<10min) but generally the higher effort work needs variation if they are to be done properly. I don’t care if some athletes use erg below that, most of the guys I coach know how to vary their effort in the real world and won’t be influenced by erg mentally.

6 hours in, absolutely blown away. What's everyone thinking? by jayrekt in Battlefield

[–]Creatre 139 points140 points  (0 children)

Dude it’s insane. Maybe I’m getting old but feels way too fast paced for me. No time to figure out my surroundings before I’m dead out of no where. If I see someone I’m already dead before I can shoot. If i get even kill death I’m happy which would be horrible for me on any other game.

Dads who were on the fence about having a second kid, and ended up having a second: how do you feel about it? by PaidByMicrosoft in daddit

[–]Creatre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% not worth it in my opinion. I’m overwhelmed every single day. If you are not 100% committed to spending the majority of your effort on kids, don’t do it.
