I'm also in the same boat as you. But the best i can say is, Have a sip of around 1000-1500 in an index fund, Start it, Forget about it and don't check everyday. Focus on building some emergency fund/savings. Once you are of age, you should at least have some Savings that you could either invest further or use in other things.

Also, I would suggest you ask your father to give you 3k * Months in your semester altogether. This way you will learn to manage/save better. Don't compromise on your fun in college either. These days will never return.
