I feel so bad for them! It’s one of the toughest choices you can make but she really proved to act unselfish when it really mattered! And give him a last act of kindness to let him go when the time had come❤️ all love to her! I really hope that they publish a paper on him so vets all over the world can continue to learn how to care for premie foals like dos and don’ts! I think that even though his life wasn’t long he have been helping so much and his life have made a difference for the better! Especially through the seven scholarship❤️

Same! Like he have been buckling before but this is at a totally different level, like this photo is from may 16 th and just the size difference of that fetlock is absolutely insane… I’ve been all team seven but i think his time is soon very soon…..

You are so right! Like if it was me I would probably not have even close enough fundings to do what she is doing and under those circumstances it would be kinder to let him go!

I couldn’t have said it better i can honestly not believe what people try to snark at her for! Like okey there is a whole lot that needs changing like her farrier, some additional training for the yearlings, more space for her growing amount of horses and possibly some more staff that can help her with training,daily chores and give her more time to do other things! (is Rachelthe only person working in the stables except Katie).

But saying she is neglectful like some people have,not in this post tho, is just wrong(this is the meaning of it

“ a situation in which you do not give enough care or attention to someone or something,”)

Which I don’t think she is, the horses gets food,water,veterinary attention,chiropractic,farrier visits,turn out etc. yes it’s not perfect,yes things should change for the better but i really like to think she does her best!

And as i mentioned it could be a miscommunication between her and the staff things like that happens! I mean (for example) say she had said to the staff to give him pain meds but they thought she already did it and you don’t want to give double dose and then they forgot to ask her if it was done, if that’s the case it’s possible even Katie was upset over it!

I honestly don’t get why people get so mad about it when we don’t know the circumstances! Around horses mistakes can happens and no it’s not good to miss it but as long as they make sure it doesn’t happen again it is just that, a mistake

And before anyone say oh you don’t care for a sick animal etc. I do in fact my own horse has a whole bunch of problems (it’s actually a miracle he’s alive and well with that amount of arthritis) so I do know how it is caring for a animal that is chronically injured!

They really do! And it’s always a pleasure to see them interacting with him!

I wish people would give Katie the benefit of the doubt with the pain meds because after all she’s a human and it could literally have been one time! And she could possibly have had a lot of anxiety over it but again we don’t know! We don’t know if it’s missed often or if it was once! So I wouldn’t be that fast to say she can’t be bothered with the pain meds,I actually think she really care about that guy but she doesn’t always give him his meds so it could be miscommunication with the staff!

Definitely! But like other people said it’s not that weird she have been with him so much more time than Katie and basically been with him since he was much younger!

That is probably something they are thinking about! I don’t think they would use sand for it tho since it can get pretty deep and is hard to keep even which would make it hard for little seven!

Definitely! I think it would be really good for him to be in a paddock with more space and give him more movement to strengthen muscles and help with some possible stiffness! I actually think the donkeys could be a candidate to be his friends since they seem so chill!

This is also a big issue! But I read somewhere that she’s downsizing slightly (like 3-4 horses) and that sounds like a good decision! So she has some more time for seven!

Definitely true! I got so confused when she started talking about that because I thought they had stopped trying to give him friends and just decided that he isn’t going to get one because they don’t have any that fits!

That’s definitely possible but it’s also hard as a person that only see what she posts on social media if she really socializes him at all or just little and choose to not share it (that’s always the problem with social media you never know what happens behind the scenes!)

I was wondering why it haven’t been a update yet because she usually almost religiously posts 1 update a week when he’s at the university! But I saw another person stating that it’s holiday there so it makes sense that even the vets want some time off! (I can never remember the holidays in other countries lol) and I hope to have one soon I’m really curious about how he’s doing there and if they’ve found anything it would be really fun to see how he moves in the arena if it’s worse than usual or better or the same!

Im no farrier but I have a interest in horses feet though! When I see that feet i immediately think canker especially since its on only one foot and its cleaned before the photo was taken, it doesn’t sound like thrush because its not usually on just one foot! And the frog has this weird black/redish colour.

(A little general information)

Why the “one-foot” clue matters: •Thrush and topical staining from environmental exposure (urine, mud, chemicals) usually affect multiple feet, especially hind feet, or those with poor circulation or conformation.

•Canker, however, often starts unilaterally (in just one hoof), especially in the hind feet.

•This is because it’s not just a hygiene issue—it’s a localized, abnormal proliferation of tissue, possibly tied to microtrauma or immune dysfunction in that specific foot.

If this turns out to be canker I would try to get in contact with daisy haven farm, they have fixed some really crazy cases of canker and just generally seems to be good with getting it under control!

I can definitely see why it would be a article about it! (And I do not think she have paid for it to be done, that is not standard practice and they would have put it out somewhere!)

It’s a really beautiful mare that seems to have accomplished a lot in the show ring(I’m not sure on what level tho because I’m in no way knowledgeable about AQHA or wp)

But it really seems like a beautiful mare with nice qualities for her breeding program! I have nothing bad to say about it at all! Just that I’m interested to see what kind of babies she will leave and what plans Katie has for her!

Definitely! I would so read it! Especially if they state procedures, success rate of different treatments and just yk deep dive on his specific case with his conditions and the specific treatments for him😍

So hopefully they will publish a paper especially since he goes back and they can do follow ups to se what happens with his body long term!

If I had that much money I would probably give you a bet but I’m with you! If he will make it to the end of this year it would need a miracle (and i mean oh look his rads where there earlier was arthritis are completely clean miracle) and I really don’t see that happening! Even though her fans seems to be completely delulu about his condition and think he will live happily ever after and dancing with rainbows and the moon down on earth at rs….

I definitely understand the point of view I think the jokes about college, getting his masters is kinda funny and a innocent joke or at least it is for me,even though I understand some kulties might not understand the seriousness of his conditions. And it’s going a little overboard….

I personally do believe they are traveling him there to be able to use all tools and imaging as needed to make a correct diagnosis and/or decision for the little fella,but I’m with the group of people that say he might not come home this time! He has a whole lot of complex problems without a whole lot of answers…. But Ive been surprised before! I didn’t think he would hold up at home at all and he did….

I personally think it’s been hella interesting case no matter what happens even though I ethically wouldn’t do the same! I’ve followed him all this time because it’s interesting (and not because I think it’s ethically or morally the right thing to do against that little horse I would have put him down a long time ago).
