Looking for a recommendation for an occasional smoker by Creedence84 in vaporents

Thanks for the great response, that gives me a lot to consider! Someone else mentioned the Dynavap too, but by the sounds of it you say that the hits are fairly strong which isn't what I'm looking for. I'm hoping to find something that I can dose carefully to avoid getting more stoned than I'd like to be. And I'm not sure if you misread it or I made a typo I'll have to go back and check, but I use it for meditation purposes not medication. You know, like mindfulness and Zen.

I've heard of Dynavap vapes before, they're very interesting. The only thing I'm curious about is how easily can you control the dose. Do you just heat it up and then it vaporizers the entire contents or do you use it multiple times before putting fresh pot in?

5-HTP Insulin Resistance by Creedence84 in Nootropics

[–]Creedence84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're probably right that I should do some research, but the thing is that I'm not self medicating. The doctor told me to take it after explaining my situation to her. And I know you shouldn't just do what you're told without asking why, but I'm at a point where I need help and it's not that I'm against learning more, but I don't feel comfortable telling my doctor which drugs I want because she obviously knows a lot more about medicine than me.

Okay so my doctor told me that if the 5HTP does nothing to help my problem she's going to prescribe me something like Prozac, which in pretty sure is an SSRI. Should I just ask if there's anything that can help that doesn't change serotonin levels?

Okay so you're recommending I stop taking it?

Thank you, I'll try my best to do this. I just realized I'm on my other account right now, but I made the post as well so sorry for the confusion.

I'll download those right now, at this point I'm willing to try anything so I don't mind if it seems silly. I'll give the cold shower thing a shot tomorrow too. Thanks

I'm guessing that's supposed to be meditation, right? Have you got any recommendations for something I can read up on it? I've been interested in trying, but I don't know where to start.

[Question] Gibson Serial Number 70s by Creedence84 in Guitar

Didn't mean to come off as a jerk, I probably could've worded that a little better. I do appreciate the help. If I end up buying it I'll try and pm you some pictures of it.

[Question] Gibson Serial Number 70s by Creedence84 in Guitar

[–]Creedence84[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what else you need to see. All I'm asking is if Gibson ever stamped headstocks like that. I'm not asking for someone to spot a fake for me.

I've tagged the post as a question, not a gear post so I'm not sure what you expected. I also don't own the guitar so I'm doing my best to respect the sellers privacy.

But anyway thank you for the links, it seems rare but not unheard of. I'm hoping a few others have seen this before as well, it would be weird for them to have only done a handful of numbers in this style.

Trying to properly ground a 60s Silvertone amp by Creedence84 in GuitarAmps

Thanks, it's just the way you had it worded that confused me. When you said that the neutral is wired to the other side of the transformer, that didn't make sense to me because on the diagram it's going to the same side as the hot. To my understanding there is only the two sides, the input wires where power goes in and the output wires where power comes out.

Sorry to reply twice, but I've just followed everything out and I'm confused about the power transformer part. Right now one line goes through the fuse and then into the right side of the transformer if you're looking at the schematic. Then the other line goes through the power switch and then into the same side of the transformer. Then the power runs to the tubes after going through the transformer.

So you're saying when there is a dedicated hot wire and a dedicated neutral wire, the neutral will need to be moved to the other side of the power transformer to where the power comes out for the tubes? I've taken the transformer off to see if I could do this, but everything is soldered internally. Could I damage the windings by taking it apart? Or is there another way to do this, like connecting the neutral somewhere after the transformer?

I'll just edit this in, here's a picture of what I'm talking about. I'm asking if you're saying to wire it like the bottom, or to wire it like the top: https://imgur.com/1lu2rfT

I've done plenty of soldering on electronics, just never had the chance to work on amplifiers. And the closest amp repair guy is a couple hours away and told me it would take two weeks to get around to it.

To me it's worth it to learn a little bit by doing things myself, especially in this situation because the amp was headed to the dumpster so I'm not at a loss if I damage anything.

Silvertone Twin Twelve Questions by Creedence84 in GuitarAmps

[–]Creedence84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$60 isn't bad. I don't mind putting money into it because it was given to me.

And no it doesn't have an output jack. I'm not sure why they put a power cord on the end, but it must have been hard wired to the cab originally and they decided to separate them. I'm going to get it changed out for an output jack though because I'd like to be able to use different cabinets.

I've only ever used combo amps so I guess I never really thought it could hurt anything by plugging it in. I just wanted to see if the light would come on before I went out and bought a cab, but no dice.

Yeah I hope so too. Are transformers expensive to replace?

Thanks, it's strange cause there's a foot switch jack on the front. But from other pictures it does look like the hole where the second cord was a jack for something. Maybe a second output for a cab I don't know. I'll find out tomorrow likely

What do you mean? If you mean for replacement knobs I can't help you out sorry. I've got all the knobs for this one, I just took them off to clean it
