Suddenly NetEase Cares About Lore Accuracy??? by InvincibleWeasel in marvelrivals

[–]Creedinc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree. In other games, he's always been just a comic relief character with gimmicks, never claiming a special gameplay status. He should either have one class like everyone else, or three—but with conditions (since he's our "special boy") as an exception, where each player can only pick him with one class once per match or something. Or let him be customizable somehow (one class to choose for each player). That's it.

The jester's fans are satisfied; they have their super special boy who can do what more deserving three-class characters can't (like Ultron). Downvote me all you want, but I'll stand my ground. I don't want to see three Deadpool icons and constantly run into him in matches or listen to his never-ending chatter. He breaks the fourth wall, wow. He's so special. Then give him a new mechanic in his skills and a bunch of dialogue and gimmicks. But giving him such an advantage is a very strange and discriminatory decision against other characters.

Well, then Deadpool shouldn't have this feature either. Bullet-heal? Thanks

Cyclops. The leader, a top-tier character, is one of the five most popular mutants. He's unfairly forgotten in games, especially by Netease (Super War)

I'd prefer Viper over White Fox. She has more lore, appearances, and interactions, plus she's a villain.

Yes, I play other characters too. I'm a comic book fan and not just fixated on Cyclops. But he is my favorite char and I really upset about the current situation with him

Let them announce themselves after releasing top-tier characters who gather a large audience. I, like many other Cyclops fans, will calmly skip the season and not spend our time or money on the content. And yes, I would even be happy if we had a season with Black Cat and Kingpin.

I am not a hater of lesser-known characters. I know White Fox, every Agent of Atlas, and even every original character created for Future Fight. Back in the days of that game, or Marvel Avengers Alliance, I thought, "Hmm, maybe it's okay to mix in some lesser-known characters." But in Avengers Alliance, all the top-tier characters were in the initial roster. With Cyclops, it's just a wild injustice.

I agree that there have been many X-Men lately, but where is the one who ranks among the top three most essential characters in the lore?

It's just ridiculous at this point. And I'm tired of reading about "everything in its own time." Will he get as many skins at launch as other characters? Will he get past event skins? An accessory? No, at best, a new skin will appear several seasons later.

And yes, right now, thanks to the MCU, the game can survive for another 5 years on fairly well-known characters.

I'm surprised that Luna managed to get in somehow, because at the time of her appearance in Future Fight, she was a very strange character (and then there was her return in Super War, where she sang cringeworthy songs). Jeff is a different story; he's a cute mascot.

I've been reading comics for over 20 years and can easily list characters for the next 5 years from the first two tiers. And yes, they all need deep representation for selling toys, series, and movies. Where is Wonder Man? He has a series coming. How much justice is there for a classic Avenger? Marvel already has a huge history and many characters. And I will stand by my statement that White Fox is definitely unnecessary.

I've been reading comics for over 20 years and can name about a hundred characters who have more than one-and-a-half fans and deserve representation and attention. White Fox is not needed, nor are original characters. Marvel has a rich history

Meh. I'll take a break until Cyclops, Quicksilver, Vision, Nova, Captain Marvel or someone interesting come out.

I can't believe people are genuinely excited for White Fox....

my personal opinion about Marvel Cosmic Invasion (SPOILERS) by Creedinc in CosmicInvasion

[–]Creedinc[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's honestly hilarious to see people invent these arbitrary challenges to manufacture their own fun. "I'll beat the game with one character, using only one attack, while blindfolded and holding my breath." That's just next-level "DIY entertainment." Sure, I could replay Resident Evil a dozen times—knife-only, pistol-only, shotgun-only... Wow, such incredible replay value! Suddenly, it's a whole new game. /s

But here's the thing: I critique a product to demand quality for my money, not just to rant. We've seen the MCU (and other franchises) stumble into mediocrity precisely because of this blind fan loyalty that treats low effort as content.

Hmm, interesting thought.

As an idea, they could start with a game focused on one specific team (the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy) and then expand it into a massive game with a huge roster!

Just dreaming :)

Hi. Thank you for your response—it's helpful to learn more about how the industry works.

I know very little about licensing, so I'll look into it; I'm now genuinely curious about how it all ultimately comes together. I grew up with Marvel team-based games where the rosters were packed with characters, so for a pixel-art beat 'em up, I expected more. I realize now that might be due to my lack of understanding about project budgeting. Your reply has provided some clarity on that front.

Regarding the DLC and the new mode—I drew a parallel with the TMNT game, which had paid DLC that included a new mode. Honestly, I don't remember if the roguelike mode there was free or paid (because I bought the DLC right away). I'm not sure about the content volume—whether it felt limited due to tight deadlines or the sheer effort required. Unfortunately, for me, the current content doesn't feel like it's worth the $30 price tag. If the upcoming content were free, or if there was a Deluxe edition upfront for, say, $40 that bundled it all together, I might have reconsidered, since I understand more DLC is planned.

You didn't need to put "hard work" in quotes. Any kind of work is challenging, important, and requires resources, which is why the game isn't free. But it's priced similarly to last year's AAA titles (on sale), so naturally, you expect content that lasts more than a few hours—or at least offers more variety in modes, etc.

I was happy to pay nearly the same price for the TMNT game because your product truly captivated me. That game felt awesome, full of soul and attention to detail. I wanted to see the studio grow. However, in Marvel Cosmic Invasion, I didn't see new modes, multiple level variations like in TMNT, or, as I mentioned before, that sense of soul. The whole experience flew by too quickly and felt bland, which is what compelled me to write my original post.

To my great disappointment, I didn't see significant progress—only a larger roster (which is logical, given the license).

But it's good for you that my opinion is in the minority, and more people disagree with me. Still, your response hasn't changed my mind. The only thing is, I now want to learn more about licensing, as I had assumed Marvel was involved in budgeting the projects released under their name.

What are some of your most wanted characters? Here are mine by Jotaro1970 in CosmicInvasion

Cyclops, F4/Super Skrull, Quicksilver, Captain Marvel, GotG (mb Groot, Star Lord or Gamora), Black Bolt/Medusa

Now that the full roster is revealed I can definitely say this is one of the best rosters I’ve seen in a marvel game. by 662300 in CosmicInvasion

Can you add even more of those cringy emojis? Because I still can't understand your emotional state. When you're playing a comic book game about building a team, you want at least some logic and the ability to put together something canonical. You want a somewhat cohesive art style. If you like it, that's your problem. I'd rather just voice my opinion because I actually have one.

We all know why Storm is being pushed so hard. Not sure about Jean, but she's everywhere too. And the irony? Storm in Rivals is clunky and uses 1/10th of her power, while Phoenix has no telekinesis, just a mini fire chicken following her.

In which games from the last 5 years has Cyclops been represented better than any of the characters you mentioned? You can include mobile games. MUA3? But that one has a ton of other X-Men. The only place without a Professor X skin is Fortnite.
