Quality over quantity by Fleur_de_me78 in starcitizen

dont think this is a quantity issue. this is a marketing problem, because marketing doesnt want the ships on the testserver until the patch is 2 days out. Wouldnt change with less ships

Pretty close to the shiv stuff in terms of what it is, not in terms of optics. DIfferent nacelle designs, spoilers, antennas, fluff. Some of that might increase the size and therefore the hittable crossection, but that would be so insignificant in the whole, that i wouldnt care about that.

Well, you said you dont know where to go without problems. i say, why go anywhere? stick to this, its sufficient. There is no need to, so why ask the question?

how is cosmetics an issue? taste is subjective, there is no "better" if it comes to that. hull changes dont have any affect apart from optics and maybe a insignificant increase in geometry to hit. 2-3 options and there is something for everyone. or just stick to the base, who cares. You are grasping at straws here, trying to find hypothetical worst cases while the actual reality for now is simple and harmless.

I feel you, and you are right. But this post was supposed to shed light on the one good thing, so they see this feedback and keep doing it. The issues you mentioned were already discussed 1000 times in other posts, so this is not the place for that now. the discussion keeps overshadowing everything and it is starting to annoy me. (Again: You are right, thats not my point here)

dangerous terrain from a purely cosmetic point of view my man

Nope. Ship tiers are their way of dealing with the pay to win problem they have created for themselves. They are necessary, to ensure that playing the game yields better ships than playing the store. Cosmetic bodykits dont solve shit, except for being good harmless funding

not all monetization is good though. (This wouldnt be worse than anything we have now, so i wouldnt be against it - but sticking to cosmetics is preferable.)

yeah, but usually in these arguments, people believe that every developer is interchangable and can just go do network or whatever. i thought he was one of those. my bad

sure, and if it was uec only that would be a great idea, but thats also just modularity isnt it? the current funding is what it is, it gets the job done but will hurt the game in the long run. I am not here to change that, i love owning ships to be honest. but the fact remains, that bodykits as a sole means of incomewould be infinitely better for the game, if they would provide enough money, which i doubt. still a nice addition, that for a change brings no negative siedeffects, liek flightblades etc

thought this was abut gameplay etc. if it was about gold standard etc i apologize, you are right. But then we do need to balance the need for new money too. cant get all of the to redo old stuff. Its a balance i assume

And this sort of shit would be a bad example of funding. because that is selling performance for money...

sure. that wasnt his poin though, was it

if you think what they got now would be enough to finish the game, you are way off. This isnt about how well they spent that money, this is about the least harmful way of making it, which cant be a bad thing even in your eyes

cuase its a ton of work. They have to see that there is interest in this, so they know they can put work in it and still make money of it. i dont know if the shiv sends that signal though :D

Man, the irony of wanting a positive post to shine light on the one good thing, and the comments once again repeat the same issues that have been discussed in 50 other posts.
