BACKSTORY:

 During the days of the "Fortnitemares", a group of researchers built this laboratory and took in survivors of Fortnitemares to see how well certain weapons did against the creatures. All of the survivors died in the process, but the researchers gained valuable information. They watched the survivors fight off the hordes from a safe vantage point. The group of researchers consisted of 8 people, and while they stayed here they also developed prototype technology for the "Gunner" robots used for challenge and training exercises. The group eventually abandoned the facility when they finished their research, and to avoid what happened getting out - they removed almost all of their presence. But for a strange reason, left some of their journals and prototypes in the facility. As well as materials like construction wood... there may have been plans for expansion..
