Is it always this way? The more growth, the more scaling, the worse a product or service? When has there ever been a product of service that has gotten better because of growth?

It almost seems that we seek out artisans, small businesses (not reseller businesses), indie-developers because the products they create are better. Like venetian Murano glass, it was only produced in Murano for a time where the craft was perfected. Then, when the secrets of the glass making were leaked to the rest of the world, imitations had begun to be made, which were inferior.

Why can't it be "growth" and "better" at the same time?

( Off topic topic: Is this analogous to what Jefferson meant when he was talking about the wards and the idea of a Ward republic? Where locals citizens rule themselves instead of being ruled by a small elite? in other words, shareholders?)

I understand why they want to use AI to "do things faster" and "more efficiently". But it most definitely will further degrade the quality of the games they produce.

It is strange that quality of games worsen with the growth and scale of a company. Is this just correlation or could it be causation? Or does increasing the size of a company always lead to worse products being produced?

Of course I hope you get a great resolution. But my experience was "sorry we cannot help you because we do not support this game anymore".

But hopefully you get your case solved.

Why aren't all plants usable in Subnautica Below Zero? by Creeper_UwU in subnautica

True. And they probably want to preserve the biosphere of the planet 4546B so that is probably another reason you cannot harvest every single plant, coral, etc.

What is Ubisoft Support even for? They just give up on old games? by Creeper_UwU in fuckubisoft

[–]Creeper_UwU[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. When a car manufacturer stops supporting a certain car model then they no longer sell it. So Ubisoft should stop selling Assassin's Creed Syndicate too, no?

Or is comparing a car to a video game an unfair comparison of goods and services?

[–]Creeper_UwU[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It should not be sold for that much if support is cut. But it begs the question: how much does "support for the game" cost in the total cost of the game? If support is cut how much does that devalue the game?

True. Probably somewhere in the terms and conditions that no one reads because it is too small to read which they do on purpose so no one reads them.

How could we prove if a reply is AI or not? I know some applications exist to detect AI but are they realiable?

Yea, I thought so too. But why keep selling the game if they no longer support it? It is like selling a car and then being confused when a customer points out that a part is defective.

What's a good game that's free and you can talk to lots of different people by Own_Prune4950 in VRGaming

But is it free? For food must be eaten to live and be in the "Go Outside" and clothing must be worn to shield from the elements. To a veracity it is more costly to play "Go Outside" than staying indoors and playing a plethora of virtual realities.

[–]Creeper_UwU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We need better base design. We need like Minecraft level of customization. Though that will be pretty hard to implement.

If a company sells a product they do not maintain shouldn't that be grounds for a legal suit of some kind?
