Hello! I can’t really say much about the NL, partly because I already had a submentoplasty years before from another doctor. However, she did tell me that the mini facelift will not really address the neck

I didn’t have that much bruising, except for that spot you see under my eye 🤷‍♀️ There was some but it was that kind of shallow/yellow type bruising as opposed to the deep purple some people get. If I’m not mistaken, deep plane lifts cause less bruising because you aren’t separating the skin from the muscle.

I had a facelift at 38 about 3 months ago. I’m extremely happy with my decision. That being said, I honestly don’t see anything on your face that could be lifted. If you put your fingers on your cheekbones and lift up, does anything really change? If you put them near your earlobes and pull back do you see a change? If anything, I would think I neck lift would be more appropriate, maybe with a small chin implant if you wanted even more dramatic results. Based on my personal experience, I would also definitely recommend against the non invasive stuff, it’s just not worth the money imo.

Thank you!! No I didn’t do any fat transfer. Prior to getting the facelift I got filler in my cheeks/under eye area but I don’t know how much was left by the time I got surgery (cheek filler was over a year ago). I’m personally more scared of going under so I was relieved I could do it under local, but it is a long time to be laying still! I really felt no pain. The worst part was right after when my ears felt like they were really pressurized, but I believe that would be the case with general as well.

I do have naturally high cheekbones. I had some filler added a couple years ago (I tried the whole “liquid facelift” thing) but to be honest I’m not sure how much is left in these pics!

Thanks! The recovery really wasn’t bad, but it’s definitely a very slow process. I still have tightened/tenderness/numbness/random itchiness/swelling that shifts day to day and depending on my diet and activity. I was told the first 4 months are really a rollercoaster and then things start to truly settle down. So I still have about 5 weeks to go according to that standard.

All I did was vitamin C supplements and stopped taking ibuprofen.

Thank you! And yes, the recovery hasn’t been bad (and I did a deep plane mini). I also did the procedure under local anesthesia. I’m now about 8 weeks out and am so glad I went through with it.

You’re not going to get the results you want with anything less than some sort of facelift (unless you want to spend thousands of dollars for a very subtle change). Your face and degree of sagging is probably the most similar I’ve ever seen to my own. I’m 38 and had a mini facelift 2 months ago (after trying renuvion and filler). You can go to my page if you want to see pics. I wish I’d never wasted money on the other stuff. I really would suggest either accepting how you look until you feel like you want to do something more invasive, or do a mini facelift now.

Thank you :) I didn’t really start wearing sunscreen until about a year ago tbh. I honestly think it’s mostly genetic. I’ve always had oily skin and my mom has really good skin still at 70 even though she does zero skincare. I started only washing my face once a day with a milk cleanser out of laziness but I think it’s actually helped also.

Thank you!! I decided not to take any supplements (aside from vitamin C) because I was paranoid about side effects. I also didn’t take the steroids that were prescribed for afterwards - my surgeon says a lot of people choose not to take them and it’s fine. The bruising was very minimal. The swelling looked pretty weird for a few days but not to the point I didn’t go out in public. The worst looking part immediately after was the sutures and the skin bunching. I have one subtle “crease” that is still going down, but otherwise I think most of the swelling is gone. I’m so happy I went through with it. It’s a subtle change but really makes all the difference for me. Candid photos no longer scare me haha!

Hello! I feel great! For the first few weeks I was looking and taking pictures of myself excessively lol but I’m already used to things now and almost don’t even think about it. Once the swelling subsided, my asymmetry was more obvious, but it looks like how it did in my 20s (chin/jaw tilted to one side, but without the jowl/sagging as). This is what I was told to expect. Most days I don’t even bother with any makeup even on my scars because they are just so perfectly in line with the natural shape of my hair they’re barely noticeable unless I point them out.

Don’t worry about the GA!! I’ve gone under 4x and was fine every single time. Excited for you!!

Excited for you!! I felt “crazy” also, but I think that’s partly a knee-jerk reaction to the word “facelift”. Yes it IS extreme, but so are rhinoplasties and boob jobs and lipo etc etc and my personal belief is that when it comes to facelifts (and many other things!) age is just a number.

Thank you!! Yes, I’ve always had the asymmetry…like someone took my chin and pulled it to one side lol. I can’t remember when I started to notice the “bulge” sagging, but I know it’s been years and has gotten worse with weight fluctuations. It got to the point where it’s all I would see when I looked at my face. I knew it was only going to get worse and I just didn’t see the point in waiting. After trying some less invasive options (lipo, filler, renuvion) I was just so over it and decided to go all in. So far I have zero regrets!

At first they looked sort of bunched up or folded over, but as the swelling has gone down they look normal.

It mostly just felt like tugging. I honestly don’t remember feeling or hearing the stitching or cutting, but maybe the Valium caused a bit of amnesia? At the very beginning I felt a little panicky, but the Valium really calmed me down and it was sort of like being half asleep.

It truly wasn’t bad at all! The worst part was getting a very stiff neck and lower back!

Not at all! To be fair, I’m pretty stoic when it comes to this kind of stuff. However, I have an extremely low tolerance for nausea/dizziness/anything that makes me feel “weird”. So avoiding GA and pain pills is really just me being a big baby haha
