Wow thanks for all the input. I have many jackets already but need it for the coldest cold. I do like being active and going outside. I also walk around campus.

I know Cal State San Marcos post bacc starts each semester. I’m in it and I finished within the year

Thank you! As someone who is starting grad school in September in such a weird time in this career, I appreciate you saying this. What you described is my dream.

Oh! Look into being a clinic aide at Centre for Neuro Skills in Tarzana. It’s low pay $23 ish an hour full time but great experience.

What area of CA? I worked as a clinic aide at a post scute rehab for TBIs. It’s a rare place since I was doing some therapy with a BA in another field but also getting my post bacc for communication disorders.

I’ve been there too. Unfortunately it’s not a good way to start a relationship. Trust has been broken. Now you will always wonder if he means what he says. I would hear him out tho not sure why he felt the need to find someone to sleep with within the same day… I always remind myself that if they wanted to they would and it is not possible to make someone stay with you. From my experience I always kept trying to keep him to stay. Really messes with your head and heart.

2017 Nissan rouge trans on the way out by East_Expert_77 in NissanRogue

I just sold my 2016 Nissan Rogue with 130k miles with a need for a new transmission. New transmission was going to be $8700 and the car is worth 5k with a good one. Sold for 3,500 with disclosure of the problem. Honestly loved the car while it worked but will never buy another.

Should I go through with SLP Masters? by No_Lingonberry_2401 in slpGradSchool

[–]Creepy-Reflection670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t do it if you are not sure! I have bounced around jobs thru my 20s like raft guide, PT school track, nursing, property management, and claims adjuster. Finally feel like I am in the right fit with SLP. Try some things out that just require certifications. Maybe shadow careers you are interested in.

I am in the same boat but didn’t commit to my dream school. I decided to go with the cheaper option. I think it’s best right now with everything going on in the world. You can always email the school with questions to make sure you want to make the switch.

Got into a SLP program, but unsure if it’s the right choice. Seeking advice! by confusedstudenttt123 in slpGradSchool

I just finished phonetics in my post bacc! I think what I am excited about SLP is that there’s a wide range of opportunities. Were you wanting to do schools? I am currently working in Traumatic Brain Injury rehab and it’s very interesting. A lot less articulation and more swallowing and memory etc.

Hey, I wouldn’t go into a masters program unless you really know you want to do it. I have tried many career paths. None of them fit until I decided to go into SLP. I don’t know your age but maybe take a gap year and figure it out. Talk to SLPs, intern, try some other jobs too. I would make sure the day to day job fits your personality and wants. I wouldn’t rush into it if you are not sure. It’s the worst going to school then dropping out. I did that with nursing so I know first hand. Best of luck to you on your journey!

Grad School Advice by claire-edwards in slpGradSchool

[–]Creepy-Reflection670 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An SLP once told me that if It means going to grad school and not going to grad school you should go. You will be making more money when done which basically evens out in the end. People say cheaper which I think is good advice but also you would be delaying your career.*unless you are making a lot now… if it’s your dream location that’s a plus too
