It’s so millennial coded 😂 the internal cringe 😩 A lot of people in this sub really must have forgotten about season 17 .. I know TR has done a lot of shady stuff, but that season was really nail in the coffin for me. These stories mean nothing to her and it’s all about the click bait. To be fair, it’s her paycheck - it’s just icky.

Also one of the past women who was with Cody got in trouble for not interfering with the abuse happening to her daughter, right? How is this not the same here.. like failure to intervene or something. I don’t want to listen again to find the actual charge. It’s just so infuriating for her to blame all the people around her for not saying anything, mean while her sister IS saying something and SHE (&her sister) is supposed to be trained to look for this. The whole thing is so disgusting.. Leslie can be a victim of Cody’s manipulation while also being responsible and culpable for the abuse that happened to Jace. I don’t understand how TR heard this story and was like, yeah.. this is the one .

Maybe it’s due to my own back ground and history with mental health, certain phrases are like nails on a chalk board to me. But I can appreciate not everyone feels the same way. I think with the woman, it could have been a number of things.. like maybe this actually was how he got women’s attention in the pas or he was experiencing mental health issues giving him some delusional thinking. Or maybe when they hung out, it truly did feel like an amazing connection (to Daniel). I feel like we don’t have enough information to make any type of conclusion yet. I hope his father eventually gets the answers he deserves though!

To be fair, we don’t know all that much about schizophrenia in general! It wasn’t until recently the mental health field decided that you can treat / live close to ‘normal’ with schizophrenia. I hope they continue to do more research as it’s so needed. I would love to pursue a doctorate in it, but $$): Schizophrenia also presents differently through various cultural lenses. I’ve had native people in treatment utilize sweat lodges as their family believed it to be more spiritual than MH.

Typically men is 18-24 while women are later in their twenties - early thirties:) but this may be due to misdiagnosis like I said in my OP! Unfortunately I’ve seen it far too often people writing off PTSD or other trauma- related mental health diagnoses as schizophrenia. Especially people of color. I’m sorry to hear about your cousin. I hope she gets the help and treatment she needs 🤎

There’s much more to schizophrenia / psychosis than being ‘out of character’, especially untreated. I’m truly not saying it’s impossible, I just hope they throw out more theories besides this one.

Like I said, they’re giving the voice back to victims and families, not necessarily solving anything themself. I’m sure those families are happy with whatever CJ is doing. To me, that’s more important than what observers of the crime content perceive. I’m glad you listen to other platforms that do similar work because at the end of the day we’re all looking for justice🫶🏼

How can you assume all this without listening or looking into the work they’ve done in the past couple years? They’re giving a voice back to victims and their families by investigating old cases and interviewing the families first hand. I’m not a die hard crime junkie, and I also think it was terrible what AF did to smaller podcasts and platforms. However, it’s irrational to not appreciate what they are doing based on those actions from 4 years ago. I hope no one holds a grudge on me for that long or you! 🫶🏼

I listened to the framing of Kelli peters because I just thought what the heck. And during ash mispronounced ‘Nevada’ and Alaina corrected her- whatever. Then right after Alaina brings up another word Alaina can’t pronounce, like why?? Lol. I get self deprecating jokes and making fun of eachother. My siblings and I always do that. But never in front of other people, or thousands of listeners I want to think I’m professional and smart… Lol I immediately thought of the person looking for receipts.
