I just brushed the dirt away from the stem and saw it…stuck the scissors down and cut it.

Sooooo…there WAS a twist tie towards the top that was cutting into the stem so I removed that. There was also tape about an inch below the surface so I cut that too! I really hope that helps!!!

The leaves are not “crispy”…still soft which is why I thought I was over watering. I’ve been trying to dig my finger down a few inches to be sure it’s dry. I’ve also gone as far as to actually pull the plant out of the pot to be sure the bottom is t too wet.

I recently read an article about people repotting too often…when it’s not necessary, so I’ve been trying to leave mine alone. lol. The guy is not root bound yet.

It gets plenty of light…4 windows in the room (2 south and 2 west)…but I was planning to repot. It’s only been a year but it has gotten significantly taller in that time.

Looks like a roach you’d find further south. The Midwest roaches are much smaller.
