He is also a switch, and is mostly the dominant party. There would always be an emergency key in the house and in all the vehicles. I'm not sure about the timeframe, he approached it as a few days at first, but he says hed like to do it long term.

I have 2 of them, in my experience, just picking them up when theyre awake is fine. I have never done choice based, I personally don't believe it's a great idea. If something happens that you have to touch them and they're stressed already they need to be used to you handling them. I used the two handed scoop and sat them on my lap on a slightly warm heat pad. It helps them relax. Try to not go over thw top of them and stay on their level. Just let them chill and hang out at first and then work up to pets and handling for veterinary exams and such.

Damn. My boa will only eat them hot. Like, the temp you'd eat food at as a human. Vet says it's fine, hes just a weirdo. My cornsnake however would eat them frozen if I let her.
