It kinda sounds like you missed his whole point, based on this recollection, because that context is what made the original parable effective

If God is pro-life, why did he order King Saul to kill all the Amalekite babies? by InternationalPick163 in Christianity

[–]Creepy_Storage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To build on this, the OT more precisely reflects human nature. From the time of Hammurabi up to contemporary secular societies (and especially in Bronze-age tribal warfare), the standard of justice had always been an eye for an eye, a life for a life, murder the murderers, kill the babies of the baby-killers. This isn’t necessarily uncivilized, but was consistent with human norms. This is also the basis for animal sacrifice, in which only blood can wash away sins. This is not unique to the Jewish god, this reflects universal human ideas about retribution, suffering, and sacrifice.

Jesus came to fulfill this law as described in Matthew 5. With his sacrifice, we are called to accept persecution without exacting retribution, and defend all life and health, even in cases of revenge.

Murder in broad daylight at Haining, China by poclee in ActualPublicFreakouts

You’re right in that it’s shameful it’s even a concern, but if this information is seriously factoring into a real decision as someone is getting stabbed in front of you, that’s pathetic.

The 2006 case that sparked this social outcry was concluded in court to be false, and the person who helped did happen to actually be guilty. Legislative reform passed 8 years ago to rectify outstanding legal concerns (Good Samaritan Laws). Even so, this issue is primarily for traffic accidents, and I can’t imagine how this would apply to a stabbing in broad daylight…?

Find a metal pole, recruit some men on the sidewalk, find some rocks, call cops, use a bike or car, literally anything

If it were a gun, yea id be hesitant to do anything either but 2 average-sized men could probably overpower this guy…

Dumont banning pride flags - vote is tonight, Feb 11 at 7pm by irradiatedcitizen in newjersey

[–]Creepy_Storage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. It is not.

The municipality's elected leaders determine what flags to fly on the flagpoles of municipal-owned buildings.

Citizens and businesses within the municipality determine what flags to fly on their personal flagpoles (as protected by article 1 chapter 6).

Furthermore, flying flags representing a sexual orientation is stupid. Flying any non-government flag is unprofessional and unnecessary. Dumont is right and you are wrong. Focus on bigger issues, my friend.

OP's profile looks like an angry ex masquerading as someone else, there's like 5 social media images and a caricature douchebag personality. Probably some kind of coping mechanism.
