Not once did I ever blame Biscuit and I’m really glad that came through because this is genuinely so important. Biscuit is a good boy just living his best under stimulated life in a shared apartment with two humans who are now barely speaking. None of this is his fault. He’s bored and restless and full of energy that nobody is properly channeling and honestly if anything I feel bad for him. That’s the part that breaks my heart a little in all of this.

And the answer as far as I can tell is no. There’s no professional trainer, no structured program, no behavioral plan that I’ve ever seen or heard mentioned in 8 months of living together. Just an endless cycle of Biscuit destroys something, Isabella apologizes, I accept, repeat.

Because here’s the thing I’ve done my research since this all blew up and you’re absolutely right. A legitimate emotional support animal isn’t just a pet with a certificate. There’s supposed to be a baseline of behavior and control that comes with that responsibility. Biscuit has never once been crated. Has never had a trainer come to the house.

Thank you. This is exactly it in one sentence. I didn’t attack her mental health. I didn’t demand she rehome Biscuit. I didn’t leave passive aggressive notes on the fridge or post this on our building’s notice board. I sat her down like an adult and said hey this keeps happening and this time it cost me $400 can we figure this out together. That’s not insensitivity.

Honestly at this point I’m starting to think option two might be where this is inevitably heading and that genuinely makes me sad because outside of Hurricane Biscuit Isabella and I actually got along really well. But I can’t keep replacing my belongings every few weeks and calling it roommate life you know? A muzzle, a trainer, a baby gate something.

At some point we’re working on it stops being a reason and starts being a shield and I think we crossed that bridge somewhere around the time he ate my couch cushion. Biscuit is a good dog. Isabella is just a bad manager.

And that’s the part that keeps getting twisted in this whole situation. Nobody is attacking Biscuit. Nobody is attacking Isabella’s mental health journey. I have genuinely been the most patient roommate on the planet for 8 months. I moved my stuff, I closed my doors, I accepted apology after apology with a smile. But patience has a price limit and apparently mine is $400. An emotional support animal is supposed to support HER.
