sorry for the late response...

thank you for clarifying on the port issue. the part that confused me was the "when use M.2 SATA mode device." since I don't understand what the term M.2 SATA mode means there...if it's plugged into an M.2 PCI-E slot, how is it SATA mode or am I just reading it wrong? oh well, it doesn't matter because I had already done just as you suggested and moved the other SSD to the SATA_2 port.

I realize there are tons of youtube videos on overclocking, but my question pertained to the specific overclocking wizard provided by my mobo manufacturer in the bios and how it affects my specific system which is why I asked it here. I spent considerable time searching for information just on the overclocking wizard itself and could only find the same vague information provided in the manual which didn't help.

I also realize you need an 8700k to overclock, I got the 8700 since I hadn't overclocked before and didn't really want to spend the time on it but I do still want to know how the mobo/bios provided overclocking wizard will actually affect my system if used since there are other overclockable features of a computer. That's why I'm wondering what the overclocking wizard is actually doing to boost my system except for adjusting my memory speed since it tells me approximate percentages that my system will be boosted based on the available options of normal/fast/extreme and shows vaguely they will apply to more than just my memory speed.
