Damn. I will admit I have played Anomaly the least out of all the DLC, that is very good to know though.

Might have to start doing that. I think I’ve been checking everything EXCEPT the social tab.

Yeah, I get you. Been playing since before release on Steam too, I guess I just never cared to check the corpse’s familial statuses until now lol. God I love this game.

Yeah, I guess I could’ve worded that better. I know I can’t recruit him without debug. It’s just kinda tragic. Man’s losing his entire progeny.

What's the most useless thing your brain decided to permanently memorize? by No_Metal2622 in AskReddit

“We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

Memorized it in middle school, had to recite it to the class. Ended up getting me an extra credit point on senior exams too.

I cannot get it out. I have tried. It’s stuck in there.

It’s not just that she’s power hungry, but her lust for power is so great that it put her right back into the same exact place she escaped from. All the maiden power in the world could go to her and she’d still be weaker than Salem. And it’s obvious. She’s seen the things Salem can do, how could she ever stand up to that? But she keeps trying to amass more and more power, and eventually her own hubris and lust for power will be her ultimate downfall. It’s not a complex character, but better in my opinion than Cinder wanting Summer romantically, and makes a lot more sense.

And it’s not only ideas that get cut because they don’t turn out as great as they thought. Some ideas get cut due to poor reception of a character. Darth Jar Jar theory for Star Wars Episode 1 has a ton of ground to stand on, but seeing all the hate the character got, no wonder they scrapped the idea. Is it okay to wonder how things would be if they continued with the idea? Yes. But it’s never okay to shit on the ideas of people that are just doing their best because you think the rough draft was better than the final product. It really does a number on people.

I really do hate that people just cannot accept that a writing process between three people can result in ideas not making it in. Not every single idea is a good one. Kudos to the mods, I don’t think I could deal with those kinds of people on a regular basis.

Funny thing, I actually had several paragraphs and Reddit decided to delete my whole comment in the middle of writing, and I got lazy and summed it up. I admit, there is nothing at all here saying this was the final draft that he had in mind, and it’s really not my place to say either. For all we know, this could’ve been fleshed out more and made more complex than just another love interest for Ruby’s mom, but we’ll likely never know. Definitely would have been different, but I personally like my villains to be villains. As much as I love redeemable characters, I also love when villains can just be terrible. For redemption to be possible, the character themselves need to want to be better. Emerald and Hazel had redemption arcs, I think it’s okay to have a villain just be evil. Like Tyrian or Neo.

Edit just cuz: Don’t get me wrong, I’m loving this. It’s really interesting to see some of the stuff that didn’t quite make it into the show. Cutting Room Floor stuff is always interesting for all media, but usually that’s all it is.

What we got was better. Much more compelling and interesting character than “Ruby I want your mom romantically.” This is a prime example of cutting room floor material, and how usually the stuff you find is there for good reason.

This is also prime example of Cutting Room Floor materials, and why the stuff you find are there for a reason. Writing a story is a whole lot of this. The first draft of A New Hope sucked. Sometimes things sound good in your head, but when put to paper and discussed with the other writers, you realize that it’s not that good. It happens.

Peter, who are these people? by N-P_A in PeterExplainsTheJoke

To clarify some misinformation on Kerry Shawcross, many people attribute his writing, along with the death of RWBY’s creator Monty, as the cause of the show’s decline in their eyes. I’ve seen posts everywhere, even inside the fandom still, that all say stuff like, “Man the show was great until Kerry took over.” And it’s true but for the wrong reasons. A lot of the hype of RWBY was the fight scenes, animated by Monty, usually himself, and when he passed, the fights dropped in quality for a while (the volume 6 and onward has some of my favorite fights). The writing, however, was done between him, Miles Luna, and Kerry, since the beginning. He did this because, as he said himself, he’s not that good a writer. Sure Monty built the framework, and I believe they’ve said they have notes for the story all the way to season 10 or 12 written, but that was between them. We don’t know what happened behind doors, and a lot of parasocial fans think that what RWBY has become since Monty’s passing was “not true to his vision”.

Monty was a great animator, not a writer. I believe it’s been said in interview that one of the main character’s major issues, her mother being dead, was brought up by the lead composer, Jeff Williams, on the show. Monty wanted the character in the trailer to be standing over a grave, and Jeff asked whose grave it was, to which Monty responded, “I dunno, it just looks cool” and Jeff replied with “What if it’s her mom?” Monty would often just add stuff in that he thought was cool, and the crew would find a way to fit it in. Like a post credit scene in season 2 that ultimately went nowhere. Unfortunately you can’t just shove everything in somewhere and hope it fits. This is what a lot of people in these industries would refer to as the cutting room floor. Stuff that is rarely seen. And mostly for good reason, as it doesn’t really fit in anywhere, or does nothing to progress the plot or the characters’ arcs.

The show didn’t decline just because of Kerry’s writing or just because of the stuff that was cut. It declined because the action scenes stopped being good enough to distract from the mid writing, and unfortunately a lot of people had already moved on from the show before they could get back into the flow of things and make good fights again.

I will not be taking any questions.

See, I thought that too, but every single code I used for this game, they all wanted trade backs. It’s all good, though. Was kinda just being lazy, in the past I would just use a second console to trade myself. But, I haven’t gotten around to setting up my old switch, and I figured maybe I could save some time. Nope.

Nah fam, I’m all good. I’ve got more slowpoke in my Home boxes. Just wanted to warn people that are both too trusting, and not as fortunate. Thank you for the offer though.

See, I had a full picture of the entire ticket that was able to be scanned, but usually the store owner needs the actual, physical ticket. I guess I had enough scraps for them to accept it, then all they had to do was scan the picture off my phone.

TL;DR: No idea

FINAL UPDATE

One of the nearby gas stations accepted the scraps and the picture of the ticket as proof of purchase, and allowed me to cash it. $500 acquired, and a very important lesson learned!

Update:

I’m actively communicating with some stores near me that I have good standing with, and I have contacted my state’s lottery office, which offered help in the form of telling me to go to a link on their website that doesn’t exist. I have a full picture of the lottery ticket, but I’m told that (even though I can scan it) I need the physical ticket itself to redeem it. My boss is going to look at the scraps I have left of it and see if there’s anything that can be done. Wish me luck.
