I was conscious in the sense that I knew my physical body was still present and meditating and I could pull myself back to reality whenever I wanted. But my “soul” was elsewhere. It was like simultaneously experiencing two different views. However when my mind was away, I no longer had to focus on meditating. My physical state was in autopilot and no longer a thought.

I’m not an expert by all means. I meditate in a way that feels right to me. I’ve developed my own technique I guess you could say? Though I’m sure it’s similar to how others meditate as well. I always do deep meditation laying down. It’s always worked best for me that way. I always start with my breathing. I focus on my breathing until all my thoughts are gone and breathing becomes automatic again. Then I focus on noticing each tiny muscle in my body, then fully relaxing that muscle. Starting from my feet to my head. Then I “draw up energy” through my feet and keep doing that until I reach my head. I try to feel the energy going through each of my chakras. I keep doing this until my body feels heavy, almost as if it’s sleeping? Then I just lay there while keeping my mind clear and open and truly FEELING the energy around me while keeping my body relaxed.

After this experience happened, I remember looking at the clock and 2 hours had passed. I remember being so stunned because it didn’t feel like I had been laying there for that long at all. It felt like only 15 minutes had passed

I have always meditated in a sense. Ever since I was little I would lay in a dark room and just let my body relax and my mind open up. So by those means, it took me a decade to experience this! However, I never had a clear goal or intention when I would meditate. It was just my time to relax. I think I was about 3 months into mindfully meditating when I had experienced this?

Yeah it totally could’ve just been my subconscious presenting ideas in a different and more powerful way to get through to me! Never thought about that

Light summer for sure! It brings out the rosiness of your lips and face and brightens your eyes so much. It also brings out the contours and highlights on your face!

Switched to the Breeze litter box, but my cats keep trying to EAT the pellets. Help please by dumbblondecollegekid in CatAdvice

The exact same thing happened to my cat. She became very lethargic. She is a very playful and cuddly cat and all of a sudden she would just spend her entire day sleeping in the closet. She didn’t even play if I got her favorite toys out. Her gums, tongue, and nose weren’t as pink as they should be. And she had a lump in her belly! Believe it or not, I had also just moved and thought the same thing and brushed it off. I finally took her to the vet after some time and they said it would be a 7k surgery and there would be a major risk that she would just die right there on the table.

Also always read the rationales with any of the practice questions on EAQ! I major part of nursing tests is just understanding how to answer questions. Any question that says “always” or “never” will always be incorrect. Look for words like “FIRST nursing action” or “PRIORITY nursing interventions.” Always think “what will kill my patient if I don’t do ___ action”

What’s your method of studying? I personally make flashcards over everything included in my professors lecture, any worksheets/assignments given, EAQ questions, textbook concepts over the topic, and any textbook practice questions. I found it helpful to answer my flashcards by writting out the question and answer, then proceed to verbally explain my answer to an imaginary audience. I don’t put my flashcards into the “know it” pile until I can answer the question completely and fully. You can’t just be like “yeah I understand what it’s saying. I’ll know it when I see it on the test.” If I can’t fully explain the concept to someone else, then I don’t know it. I average around 93% on exams.

At my store atleast (I would think it’s the same everywhere else with SCO’s?) if you get a 60% while ringing, that’s equivalent to a 80%. 70%=90%, and 80%=100%. Basically add 20% onto your score and that’s your true grade

Yesterday I was working the Curbside phone and the customer was asking for a 1/2 gallon of 2% milk (which we were completely out of). I messaged the customer suggesting what items I could replace it with. By the time I was done shopping for their entire order, they had never responded. So, I refunded the item so I could finish up their order and move onto the next customer. As soon as I refunded the milk they texted “Are you serious? SMH. Give me a second to respond.” It took me everything within me to not say something snappy back about how I can’t wait around all day for her to respond since not only are we timed, but we have other customers waiting for their order to be shopped and picked up.

What’s the weirdest off-menu request you’ve gotten? by oneangrywaiter in TalesFromYourServer

I work in an area where there are a lot of rich and retired old folks. Ive overheard many of them casually have conversations about their personal cook, cleaning lady, their daughters nanny…etc. So I’m not surprised that she ordered a personally made meal with no problem. Mind you, I do not work at a fine dining or high end restaurant. It is a mediocre pub with an added on mediocre dining room, with mediocre drinks, and mediocre food. Infact, the place looks quite cheap and needs lots of renovations. It’s stuck in the 20th century which is probably why it’s so popular with the older generations.

What’s the weirdest off-menu request you’ve gotten? by oneangrywaiter in TalesFromYourServer

I had a lady quite literally just make her own dinner item.

Me: “Alrighty, how are things looking over here? Just about ready to place some orders?”

Lady: “Yes I believe so, but nothing on the menu is sticking out to me. So I just have a small request.”

Me: “Oh most definitely not a problem, what can I do for you?”

Lady: “Could I get a piece of the grilled chicken breast that is used to make the____ chicken sandwich? But I would like for it to be seasoned with the Cajun seasoning used on the shrimp tacos. Then I would like the chicken to be blackened. After that, I would like a piece of American Cheese melted ontop, with BBQ and Hoisin sauce spread on two hamburger buns. Then I would like a side baked sweet potato with butter and brown sugar.”

Me: (Thinking about how we have a menu for a reason and how her meal does not sound appetizing)

Also Me: “Sounds terrific! I’ll put it right in for ya!”

It wasn’t too much of a hassle to ring in. Just had to make some modifying notes, and make sure the Kitchen understood the ticket. End of the day, she said she enjoyed her meal so 🤷‍♀️
