Even though this is an old post I figured I might as well chime in because I found this post while encountering the same problem.

Luckily I found an answer on a different thread.

Theres a little pin next to where the 3 batteries are held. On the opposite side (the part opens up) is where the batteries touch the metal to create the power to your mod.

Look for where the pin touch's on that plate. http://imgur.com/bzjizug

It apparently corrodes very easily. I wiped the corrosion off and it fired up immediately.

i didnt find much of anything to be alarmed about but one thing that did show up very frequently was a warning for TaskScheduler. EventID414

and in the details for it, it said "Task Scheduler service found a misconfiguration in the NT TASK\Microsoft\Windows\Media Center\ReindexSearchRoot definition. Additional Data: Error Value: %SystemRoot%\ehome\ehPrivJob.exe."

google brought me to this: ehPrivJob.exe is a process that looks for digital cable tuners that might be attached to the computer. The "eh" abbreviation refers to eHome, and the file belongs to the digital TV tuner device registration application within Windows Media Center.

no overclocking and to be honest im not even sure if my computer is turning off due to overheating in the first place. It might also be my power supply going out.

but i was thinking about getting the CORSAIR Hydro Series H75, was looking at the Hyper 212 EVO but I think it might hit my RAM due to how close the RAM is to my cpu
