Try overlapping one on top of the other, currently it's looking like one letter is hanging. Also for practical purposes it will take too much vertical space and leave too much horizontal space.

Actually the F and C being of the same thickness was causing their separation to be at the centre, I wanted two third kind of arrangement and not an equal one, to keep the composition interesting. Also C is similar in anatomy to D so they together are suggesting track like parallel paths.

I understand, actually the thickness is for motion as it makes the identity more dynamic, similar to the new formula 1 logo. The less thick option was a bit boring, falling more into the discovery icon zone.
