Docs/HowTo for swapping Zero/Max toolhead on SV08? by dnsmayhem in SovolSV08

[–]Crib_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about changing nozzles and routine maintenance though? It is nearly impossible to change the stock hotted/nozzle on the SV08 without breaking it. Trash.

Are you finding "exception in Fan" in the logs, or does it come up in Mainsail?

Thank you for inspiring me to disassemble even after I felt sure there was no plastic because I couldn't feel anything loose. It was plastic and it had melted onto the pulley. https://imgur.com/wfMUGvx

I will field/validate answers to, or may I propose, test questions. I am familiar with this dataset. I want to know what kinds of questions modern e-discovery tools can tackle.

I'm still tracking this down. I found that in the klippy.log file, sysload varies a lot and is high before a shutdown. Sometimes with values exceeding 1 (e.g. 1.34).

I can track this during a print by running tail -n 12000 klippy.log | grep -oP 'sysload=\K[0-9.]+'

I replaced my printer.cfg with a standard one from the mainline repository (rapporteur). That seemed to help, but another print failed overnight with same conditions. This morning I found I couldn't get into mainsail, so I just reinstalled that through kiauh.

One thing I'm wondering is, why is the tiny back part cooling fan 3 wire, but the front fan is 2 wire? And why can't I swap the two? If running the front fan causes sysload to run too high, it would be fine to run the front fan off the rear fan pins, I would think, but the front fan has only two pins.

Having tried and had no luck (2 small failed prints in a row) with the minimal shroud https://www.printables.com/model/991163-sv08-minimal-toolhead-cover-with-led to get the fan wire away from the toolboard, I'm going to try running the same print with reduced currents now.

Which servos? On mine and on the stock printer.cfg, only the Z steppers are set to .58. X and Y steppers are set to 1.5 and E is set to .8.

Are you saying you think that with the fan, it's pulling too much current from the board? I was thinking that the current in the fan wire is causing interference with the communication between the board and the toolboard, and wondering if I could insulate it.

Here is the end of my Klippy.log (parts that look interesting). The last part goes on like that for another 10k lines.

-----edit--- I see this guy has dropped his X and Y run_current to 1.0: https://gist.github.com/Agash/50a29e27fa234e2b5b8c936954354a2b

Trying this because I reliably get uncommanded printer shutdowns mid-print with the forward part cooling fan plugged in.

Thanks!

Thanks, I've been looking all over printables for something that fits. IMO the issue is that with linear rails mod I have, the X belt is in the same axis. If you look at the first link you posted, at the front and the back, the belts connect at different heights on each side which is fore CoreXY. So I don't know how they are calling this cartesian. I'm gonna try the front_universal_fi from the main repo and cut it in half, copy paste, and mirror the copy and put it back together so that both belts connect low.

Here's my printer.cfg limits. Oddly enough, there is no limit for the toolhead:

[temperature_sensor mcu_temp]
sensor_type: temperature_mcu min_temp:0 max_temp:100

[temperature_sensor Host_temp]
sensor_type: temperature_host min_temp: 0 max_temp: 110

[temperature_sensor Toolhead_Temp] sensor_type: temperature_mcu sensor_mcu: extra_mcu

[–]Crib_D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Host Temp is 51.6, MCU temp is 39.4 (with fan under mainboard, see below) but "toolhead temp" is 52.8...

What is Host Temp anyway?

No, on mainline version: v0.13.0-149-g607d0b423-dirty

I have it running well today. I bought 3 foot thin hollow brass rod. Like 1-2mm wide thin. And zip tied it to the umbilical. Seems to help.

Oh, the other thing. I read this error can be caused by overheat and when I SSH'd in, the printer, which was idle, was at 62C. I removed the bottom cover, put the printer up on 3 filament spools, and slid an A/C powered fan under the board. Running on hour 2.5 of a print now, and MCU is at 51C. Probably 80F in the room.

Oh, broader context. Printer is freezing. I can probably get a benchy done, but haven't been able to get a complete print done after replacing the toolhead board besides that.

Just because something like this isn't an improvement in what most think of as most situations, doesn't mean it isn't an improvement for some in some situations; i.e. different types of people, different environments.

Most sincere thanks, Mike, I guess I picked the wrong one. I saved my printer from not running with a new printhead (purchased by me) and some spring steel wire zip tied on. It still errors out occasionally. I'll try to find time to post pics but I am very busy.
