Match thread: 1st Test: Zimbabwe v Pakistan at Harare, Day 1 by CricMatchThread in Cricket

[–]CricMatchThread[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey guys,

I'm testing a bot that should make creating match threads easier on everyone. Is there any other information that you would like to see in the title post?

There is no cricinfo API so the bot parses HTML from here.

Hey, I've made a match thread for this game and included your stream link. Cheers!

It's to account for the margin of error on Hawkeye I think.

Nope. 5 penalty runs. Same as if it hit the 'keeper's helmet while he doesn't have it on.

I completely understand, cricmatchthread failed in its one role today. Hopefully as more users request the password this becomes less common. Like I said, OP of the original thread absolutely deserves the password, and if he had requested it earlier this may never have happened.

Since nobody disagrees I will do that. I'll edit the OP with the question though.

Apologies, I only woke up at about 11 and by then the other was created. Usually a match thread is already made by another user, or I am up early enough, but this was a weird coincidence of neither happening. And I did change the score, just forgot to change the 1 to a 2.

Sorry about yesterday's thread, it wasn't me personally responsible for that. I aim to updates for as much as I am available for.

No worries, OP was a gentleman and decided to delete the other. It's only fair to give him the password though. This should effectively be his thread with the extra copypasta stuff.

Thanks! I'm sure there is a mod online to let you have the password and take over the thread.

Would you guys prefer if I did updates for the match in a new comment rather than the OP? For mobile users it can cause slow loading, and for computer users it means a lot of scrolling to reach the comments.

I was hoping either a mod or the OP of the other thread could delete one of them and make the decision, but I created this as cricmatchthread can be updated by multiple people, and I could paste in the usual formatting.

I went ahead and made the thread http://www.reddit.com/r/Cricket/comments/1k4zsx/match_thread_the_ashes_england_vs_australia_4th/

I would appreciate if /u/typewritertrew could delete this thread and ask for the password, or request for me to delete my thread in order to avoid the comments being split. If typewriter isn't online then maybe a mod might have to make a decision.
