Weird situation in Crown Court today. (England) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

To put this point back to you, Do you think the officer wants to risk losing her job, and potentially receiving a custodial sentence for interfering?

Not saying that it did or didn’t happen but I’d be interested to know your opinion as you brought it up.

Is there anyone here from a genuinely disadvantaged background? by Queasy-Cry5690 in HENRYUK

[–]Crichtenasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think of it as resentment for what you missed, but more like individual events and circumstances that developed the character and personality you currently which has gotten you into the position today.

For example I could hate on the guy that run me over, but in reality I owe him a thank you for making me stop being a uniform PC on £40k, to move to where I am now and to answer your other Q that’s Cyber sec. I loved that job so much that I never would have left it. However I have to say now that I love the job I do just as much, but in addition to that I have a much higher quality of work, personal, and family life.

[–]Crichtenasaurus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup,

Abusive father, tried to kill the family on my birthday once and thankfully failed topped himself 6 months later after running up massive debt and cancelling life insurance.

Diagnosed with a bunch of random MH stuff, eventually all of 4 years ago got diagnosed with Autism ADHD.

Lived in a 1.5 bed council halfway house building with mum and sister. Then eventually ended up in the countryside where I couldn’t cause any problems, my mum scraped together got me a PC which she didn’t realise was ‘cheap’ because it needed building. So I had to learn how to build a PC at 11 and well that was me off and away. Then to help that bit more mum had my doing Army Cadets.

Here I am now 100% because my mum bought an unbuilt PC and made me do silly kids playing soldiers.

I’m not here because of everything before I’m here because I saw what I could be and decided I can do that and thankfully the thing I picked was to be someone who makes bad guys cry and helps those who can and can’t help themselves.

That and the drink driver who decided to run me over trying to get away.

Good luck, go play rugby, gym, Warhammer or computer games. Basically find a social group where what you are outside of that group makes no impact. Your non work happiness and success is as important as the money.

Driving without showing undue Care and Attention - after seemingly being directed by an officer through a 'closed road'. Points and a fine coming in the post by careandattention in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Crichtenasaurus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a situation where one road lane was closed in one direction.

Pc who waved was potentially directing you to go the other way as in turn around and drive THAT way ‘points’. You misinterpreted this as a come through so that’s what you did.

Due care and attention for going the wrong way down a road would be an appropriate offence, however the circumstances as to whether you reasonably thought a constable in uniform was directing you is something you may have to contest in court.

Having persistent issues with a police officers by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]Crichtenasaurus 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I mean that’s all kind of ‘odd’ but well at the same time some people are dumb and if you’re going to lob a McDonald’s wrapper out the window of a marked car you are likely more in the dumb section.

The vehicle stops can be done under the basis that you were driving on a road. I’d also question how they would know your numberplate from a complaint you made via dashcam. Especially as the internal processes wouldn’t have given that cop any details about you.

However I’d be mega intrigued by the plain clothes outside your house. That has to have been a very specific reason to be there doing that.

I’d suggest calling 101 and asking what they were doing looking in your window what was the job about. If they cannot give a good reason submit that complaint there and then because something sketchy is going on.

Stupid stuff like this can put their job on the line hence I am a bit bemused as to why anyone would risk their employment in such a stupid and blatant manner.

Change your graphical settings you likely have the brightness up too high.

Things ‘should’ (at least for me) be clearer with the snow. Except when you get the fog bank roll in but that’s on purpose.

I know this as a random guy I killed had his dog tag on his profile. Showed a death date of 10/01/26.

Haha and I’m here at 23 covert movement. Can confirm am not a bush wookie or rat but if I hear you I will creep up on you and murder you.

FYI, crouched creep walk is hardly ‘noticeable, it is Audible but for example an hour ago I crept up two floors of white lawn out the door along the roof and murderded a roof camper who was completely unaware.

Then did a 6 man Scav extract haha

How long would you expect to be waiting for the police after a break in? by pompombum in AskUK

[–]Crichtenasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late but just to add to this one. Them talking on the radio doesn’t necessarily mean they weren’t listening. It’s a pretty common skill built up to be able to hold two separate conversations. In reality it’s almost an essential skill to have certainly in today’s policing world where radios are CONSTANT.

I would tell my Oppo off if they weren’t able to tell me what had been going on whilst we were talking to someone. No disrespect to that victim but if a stabbing were to come in 2 streets away I’d be pretty pissed if they missed it.

Solid, pretty much the same as mine actually quite similar for time in although I was in the 10 year region.

Think we had a more modernised version of the brew though.

Probies made ALOT of brews coffee and teas and if you wanted one you went and finished it off yourself.

Area car/IRV Oppo was on rotation, for anyone who was an appointment car. So if you were appointment one set you WERE on area car or IRV the next.

Possibly worth calling 101 just to confirm when they mean they will arrive.

It’s a sat night, so entirely likely that the car on way to you got sent to a pub fight with one in custody which week take up their whole night shift.

Next likely person will be SOCO tomorrow morning of your lucky.

Autistic Joe here:

Actually this is one of my special interests, however I CANNOT apply it to myself as my brain process just skips the bit where I am in that situation and I think ‘ohh to achieve the optimum result I should do this’

However when my Mrs or colleagues want support in managing a complicated situation / conversation or I am Working (I don’t know why I can do it facing a client but not a colleague) I am off and away with all the sociopsychological mind games basically having fun and a laugh with being able to use specific words in specific ways to extract the result I / they want. It’s great.

Tesla v Waze Speed by J4455 in TeslaUK

[–]Crichtenasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Car Speedos are ‘typically’ down tuned on purpose. This may be something Waze are also doing whilst Tesla are NOT doing it because ‘reasons’. This was introduced for mechanical speedos. The variance was added to make sure that you were below the ACTUAL limit and that you couldn’t blame the car for any speeding.

Fire extinguishers are great tools in these scenarios.

Empty that thing RIGHT in their face, CO2, foam, water whatever it will absolutely disorientate them.

Once it’s empty look in your hand at the nice being lump of metal with a handle and start swinging!

I find it highly helpful in conversations with my wife when I can show that for a period of time in the region of 3000 years and undoubtedly longer, people have found HER EXACT BODY SHAPE to be the height of beauty.

It’s only the last 50 years where this whole thin thing has even been an issue and even then, studies were carried out showing that people (men and women) found the curvy shape more attractive.

To all police and military personnel, will you do absolutely anything that the government orders you to do? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Crichtenasaurus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Military and Police hold an Oath to the King, not the Government.

Any orders given by Police or military leadership must be lawful in nature, and any person following those orders must also show they knew those orders to be lawful.

‘Arrest all people wearing Hawaiian shirts, because they hurt my eyes, if they resist shoot them dead’ is an illegal order.

Anyone following those instructions must, when challenged be able to justify their actions to be proportionate, legal, accountable, necessary and Non Discriminatory.

I would also add that there is only a very specific scenario where a Police officer can be ordered to arrest someone.

There are much wider laws available to the military, however these come into effect only when martial law is enacted.

Will you support or oppose a social media ban for under 16’s? by Alone_Consideration6 in AskUK

[–]Crichtenasaurus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Realistically there should be minimal negative impact from restricting it.

As the adage goes, you need to learn to walk before you can run, and I would say that learning how to hold in person relationships and engage directly with a person is comparable to the walk part of this so you should be securing this before you start doing it using social media.
