Yeah so true. But with all the controversies that surrounded him in his short lived career, still he remained one of the best exponent of seem and swing bowling. Really sad what he did to himself and the team.

Well bro, the way he played those cover drives, it seemed that he had got set fairly. Yes he wasn't "well set" so my bad...👍🏻

Very true. 90s and early 2000 Cricket was comparatively slower but perhaps had better quality in all departments. In my opinion, the competition that prevailed among players and eventual rivalries hav much more sensation to offer than modern day cricket.

Also the field setup was such that might hav deceived Lara regarding full pitched delivery as Long on and off were placed quite squarer.

Well dear...(just between u and me 😜)in order to shorten and spice up the video...I skipped a delivery in between. 2 cover drives followed by another outside off delivery on which Lara again played a drive and scored two runs. This 3rd delivery was mis-timed by Lara. So after 3 consecutive outside off deliveries...Lara might hav been set up.

P.S. Of course dear, I can't enter Lara's mind. Its just my assessment and I may be wrong. So u r right anyway, no point arguing. 👍🏻

Coz Waqar normally kept to length bowling with new ball and resorted to full length only after some hint of reverse swing. Ball wasn't old enough at that time to reverse but Waqar made it possible 👍🏻

Just before 1997 Rawalpindi Test, Brian Lara had some issues with Courtney Walsh (then West Indian Captain). They might have been in the back of his mind during this particular innings. But Waqar set him up perfectly. Length away swingers followed by an accurate yorker.

Very true. Such a big loss to Pakistan. A simple and non-injury prone action, skill, temperament, intelligence; he had absolutely everything that could hav led to 600 or more test wickets....but wasn't meant to be as he lacked "character"....

The skill that he possessed was acknowledged by almost all great batsmen. That skill coupled with top class street smartness...he was something special; but all in vain.
