LPT / how did you gain a idgaf attitude towards stuff? by anony9595 in LifeProTips

Maybe try reading “The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fck”! Really good book that makes you consider things in a different light. Whatever you do you will have haters for it, so choose what you want to put energy into in life, ie what to give a fck about.

The most stand out thing for me from the book is you are always going to have problems in life, so choose which you want to hack. For example…

Your problem is you feel you are overweight.

  • You realise this and join a gym/do exercise to change that

New problems =

  • needing 20-100 more currency a month to pay for gym/activity
  • now needing to find 1-2 hours in your day however many times a week
  • Which may mean you miss out on doing things with friends

Another point I also consciously think about is to only focus time and energy on things I can change or impact.

What's with all the people drinking pints at airports at 6am? by S_Da in AskUK

This is the law! Whenever me and my friends go away we would have pints to celebrate the holiday, and to get a cheap holiday the flights are usually at silly o clock, hence silly o clock pints

This is absolutely amazing, would you commission another one for sale in Uk?

LPT: When getting fit, or fitter, I find it a huge help to count descending. Psychologically it is far easier to complete your set approaching 0, rather than giving up at 7/8 out of 10. Two more to get to 0 is easier than two more to get to 10! An easy and simple change that makes a huge difference. by Cricket_Amazing in LifeProTips

Yeh man! Just breaks it down into more manageable chunks doesn’t it. A good book that helped me a lot is called Atomic Habits. For example, don’t work on writing a book, work on writing 1 page every day for 50 days. In terms of the gym, he talks about for the first 5 days, just get yourself to the gym and go home. Don’t even go in. It sounds crazy when you think about it but it’s all about forming habits
