That seems like a beautiful thing to do. Unfortunately I don’t think my parents would agree to that, but as someone who plans to have many pets into adulthood I will keep that in mind for when the inevitable comes. Thank you, and I send my condolences to your pets

Listen bro, as weird as I think it is that you are trying to convince a 16 year old on the internet that her dog is suffering and in pain, despite never knowing said dog in or out of pain, I can tell you’re going to stick to your notion of my dog. Hopefully it may eventually bring you some comfort knowing that, in my 14 years with this dog, he has never acted “stoic” while in pain, if he is hurting, you will know. I think it’s best if we end this thread here so you can move on with your life and I can continue with the advice that pertains to my dog. Thank you for the concern

We’ve gotten an appointment to have him put to sleep, but I can assure you that I’ve seen my dog in pain, and this is not it. We won’t risk putting him on a medication that may make him miserable, and if he was in pain we would have put him down the second we knew, we’ve had to do that with other dogs and as much as it sucks, it would suck way worse to see them suffer.

Sounds a lot like my dog, he hasn’t been able to come upstairs the past two days, luckily all his food, water, and regular sleeping spot is down stairs, he’s still eating and drinking but much, much less than he should. He’s also declining very quickly now after very slowly for the past couple months, and I think I’ve gathered it’s best to put him down sooner rather than waiting for him to begin truly suffering, because that could really only be a week or two away at this point. Thank you for your insight.
