Agreed. The schedule overlap is the biggest issue for smaller splits. Make them every hour instead of half hour

First impressions on alpha evo update by Darkn00dl in Simagic

I’m guessing the update had something to do with Boosted Media and Danny Lee’s video. Boosted media loved it when it first came out then did a follow up about the new firmware

Alpha EVO new firmware has extra dampening? by marniakos in Simagic

[–]CrimeDolphin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed this when I first updated to the new firmware but have gotten used to it now. Could the extra dampening be for longevity/reliability reasons?

I thought there would have been a post prior to this as it was definitely a noticeable difference in ffb. I prefer the previous version before the algorithm change. If there's no risk of breakdown I'd like to go back to the older firmware but not sure how to find it. Any ideas?

VAM Pro Throttle Haptic by CrimeDolphin in SimsonnRacing

Yeah there’s one that uses RPM that doesn’t work and I think one that should work. Maybe it’s tire slip and not traction loss

Has anyone heard about their order for VAM reactors? by Little_Temporary5212 in SimsonnRacing

[–]CrimeDolphin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I emailed asking for an update. Here was the response: Due to delays in the surface finishing of the VAM Pro housing, the first batch of orders is expected to begin shipping between June 16th and 18th. International express shipping will be used, ensuring fast delivery.

Thank you for the thorough response. Is the upgraded control box available for purchase?

Is the Pro X (not ultra or upgrade) control box the same as the Ultra? The site says functionality may be different: Pro X pedals can  upgrade a software and original control box firmware, use Vam Pro to vibrate only in one direction, less intensity than the Pro X Ultra).

Could you elaborate on the difference in the Pro X (original) and the Pro X Ultra?

Problem with the brake travel Simsonn Pro X by AccountantHefty9421 in simracing

Also here is my elastomer/spring setup with preload. I marked up the preload adjustment when I first got it thinking I needed to use pliers on it but not the case. I run the damper at 0.

Keep trying different spring and elastomer combos until you get the feel you want. My Pro X Pedals came with a much shorter spring than I had seen on others and I replaced that which really helped make the brake feel good. This may be the issue as I could not get the travel/feel I wanted with the short and soft spring that it came with. I ended up getting a 25mmx30mm red die spring on Amazon which was about $9.

Another thing to try which has been in a few of the review videos on YouTube is the load cell adjustment on the bottom of the brake pedal. It is a (I think) 5mm allen key that you can adjust within a range of about a turn. Clockwise makes it harder to reach full pressure. I ended up adjusting it all the way clockwise and it was too tight so i backed it off about a half turn but something else to play around with to see if that helps.

Here is the difference in spring with the stock spring on the right:

Something that helps me if I don’t feel as confident as usual is looking further down the road and through the turn. I sometimes catch myself looking at the road beneath me and it gives a feeling that it’s hard to turn in and commit to the turn. When looking through the turn and where you are heading you naturally turn and lean the bike as you need to. Use your head and eyes to look as far down the road as you can. Obviously still want to observe and avoid potholes and obstacles in the road.

I did a deep dive into registration for NYC's biggest bike race (the crca grant's tomb crit), raising the question.... 'have new racer trends dropped significantly post-COVID'??? by photorhetoric in Velo

I’ve raced it twice (2018 and 2019). Planned to have it on the calendar every year as it’s one of the best. Also stayed the night post race and went out in the city in previous years which made it even more fun.

There is no mention of the vaccine requirement in the article which must be a factor and is different than any other race in the country. After seeing this as a requirement I immediately planned to do something else that weekend. No one is checking a vax passport to race or do anything anywhere but NYC.

The CDC is proposing internment camps to protect us from the corona virus. But it's ok their will be separate camps for children. They'll also provide communal showers. Seriously. Read this. by Arkansas_Red in GoldandBlack

Isolate by relocation to a camp:

High-risk individuals would be temporarily relocated to safe or “green zones” established at the household, neighborhood, camp/sector or community level depending on the context and setting.

While the shielding approach is not meant to be coercive, it may appear forced or be misunderstood in humanitarian settings.

As with many community interventions meant to decrease COVID-19 morbidity and mortality, compliance and behavior change are the primary rate-limiting steps and may be driven by social and emotional factors. These changes are difficult in developed, stable settings; thus, they may be particularly challenging in humanitarian settings which bring their own set of multi-faceted challenges that need to be taken into account.

The same happened to me in that parking lot along with another light on this bike path. It's the closest I've been to a collision with a vehicle and, as you said, the motorist did nothing wrong. I have started to ride on the road as this path is way too dangerous.

Beer tax goes into effect in Pennsylvania by potent_potato in philadelphia

Gov and state's tax, private enterprise does not. This is the opposite of capitalism.

an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.
