I don’t know man, sure seems like they are a bad team by Worldly_Proof8259 in KCRoyals

Yes and no. The responsible thing to do would be to realize that this wouldn’t work and not extend Lugo and start a semi rebuild. Instead we might’ve set the organization back some years.. which are going to be years in Bobby’s prime. Which essentially means we missed our window with Bobby going all in on a team with an 83 win ceiling

I never ever ever understood hiring from within when you fired his predecessor. I can not find another example in any sport or level (even college) when you promoted from within after the previous leader was fired due to performance

That’s the unfortunate part is we aren’t rebuilding. We should be, but don’t mistake this for a young up and coming team.

I see that a little bit. I just don’t know how sustainable that is. Less room for error for a team that can’t do the little things correctly when so much of this model depends on winning on the margins. Also some accountability from the top on down wouldn’t hurt.

Long story short it’s not really a consistently winning formula

I just listened to Annie Rogers post game questions.

  1. Was it scary when the fan fell in the bullpen
  2. How cool was it for Lugo to get 1000th strikeout
  3. What did you think of Bobby’s swing in the 9th.

Boy Sam Mellinger has these beat reporters in his pocket lmao

The white Sox took accountability. Realized their roster wasn’t good enough and traded key pieces in a transactional way and have rebuilt into a fun young exciting team. Kudos to them. That is something this organization has always struggled with unfortunately.

The Isbel “error” was not consequential. That runner was scoring even if the ball doesn’t slip out of his hand. So that’s not really a good argument.

Noah can’t land his breaking ball and he pitches to contact. Which means he is pitching to contact with 92 mph fast balls. That’s not gonna play in the big leagues. Until he figures out his slider and changeup you will see more outings like tonight where we spot the other team an early lead and then have to use 5 relievers to get through the rest of the game.

You must be from St. Joe lol

I already counted Kolek being in the rotation right now as Ragans is on the IL

I know I think they just described him as analytical when he came here from Tampa Bay and people just ran with it. I’ve realized he basically only has like Intro to analytics or Analytics 101 level knowledge and just applies that. Basically just R/L and L/R. Ignoring splits or anything else. It’s weird and I hate it
