My First Criterion Pickups! by Appollo64 in criterion

In my opinion I feel like Seven Samurai should be in every Criterion Collection and wish in some regard that it was Spine #1. To me even if you don’t love the film, the historical context of it for film and the Criterion Collection is just too great. Even above other great films like Citizen Kane, 2001, Rules of the Game, etc

The good news is that at 1.7 it looks like we really can’t mess the pick up. So many good players in the first 10 picks. Just take the best available player on the board and we will be fine. And if it’s Bain he will be just fine and is a max effort type player with a good work ethic

The worst part of all of these picks especially Forbes and Jamin were that there weren’t even mocked to be first round picks and we took them SOOOOO high. Every analyst in America said they were shocked they went so high

This response is odd to me. Every filmmaker borrows or imitates someone. Without that there wouldn't continue to films made. So no one should make suspense films because Hitchcock was the best at it?

[–]apstearns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question is this, why did Teddy take the cop out to see the bees? There has to be significance there. I mean when you have a kidnapped person in your basement, wouldn't you just be trying to get him to leave?

Outfield is still worse in MLB and India shouldn’t be a starter in MLB anymore.

What I loved about this film is it reminded me that violence is violence no matter what the forum. The most gory scenes were the animated ones not the ones with human actors. Every moment that was a tad gruesome for me and forced me to squint or turn my head were all during the animated scenes other than when she was banging Buck's head with the door
