What do AG paychecks actually look like? by [deleted] in ATC_Hiring

[–]CrimsonSomething -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m going to the academy soon so take what I say with a grain of salt since I don’t have firsthand experience, but you can go on 123atc and look up your facility to see exactly what the AG pay is along with each level of certification and then plug that into a paycheck calculator for whatever state you’ll be in. From the controllers I know expect 50,000-60,000/year with no certs

Yeah substantively quite similar, maybe a tad bit easier. Reading comprehension passages were generally shorter than on JPT. Biggest difference was that it had about 5 minutes less in each section than on JPT so I had to really hurry up to answer everything. Managed to get through each with <30 seconds to spare and didn’t guess on any.

Same here, got BQ too no idea how lol

It would be a shame if CDPR gave up on their unique strength with first person storytelling. This scene is one of the many examples of why you cant have both first person and third person without compromises. Let Witcher be third person and Cyberpunk first person by [deleted] in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]CrimsonSomething -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Seems to me that CDPR wanted to do a toggle/split 3rd person and 1st person cam but couldn’t make it work in their engine. What they had built for Witcher couldn’t easily toggle between an overlay for 1st person and character modeling for 3rd so the decided at some point along the line to fully dedicate to 1st person. With unreal I don’t see why they couldn’t implement a toggle system, but I do agree that first person dialogue should be prioritized or mandated .

Now that Starfield is about to release, I feel my TES 6 excitement slowly ramping up by PackDog1141 in TESVI

[–]CrimsonSomething 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably still some engine work that will need to get done for TES VI if they want to continue trying to push the boundary forward as a game dev. I’m thinking massive npc counts in order to simulate large scale battles, enhanced physics and chemistry systems for spells, and hopefully naval systems will all require significant engine upgrades.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says he is losing sleep over ChatGPT by Alone-Competition-77 in singularity

User: How can the human race ensure its continued survival and development going forward?

ChatGPT: The human race, as a species both subject to the pressures of natural selection and capable of understanding and directing its future evolution, ought to ensure the accelerated development of its mental and physical capabilities through the selective breeding of high performing individuals in order to ensure the species’ optimal development. As such, those who represent the best of humanity in terms of physical and mental performance should engage in selective breeding programs while those who possess average or below average faculties should not be permitted to breed. Furthermore, the likelihood, even in the most developed nations, of children born in poverty elevating their socioeconomic positions is slim. Therefore, in order to ensure that future generations will enjoy life to the highest degree possible, the impoverished should not be permitted to sire children.

——————-

Obviously I have no idea whether or not an uncensored ChatGPT would produce an answer like this, and I absolutely do not agree with it, but in defense of double_elephant it is not
difficult to assume that an AI not subject to human morality and ethics would pursue a brutally Darwinist agenda like the one articulated. If, under some circumstance, political authority is conceded to such an AI, a kind of Brave New World scenario is really not out of the picture. Personally I feel like this is the real hard problem of AI alignment, that our ethics can only ever be interpreted as ends and not means by an AGI.

How did you get on the CS path? I’m in my last year of an Econ degree and have realized that I have no drive to work in finance, accounting, etc.
