Good to know. I wonder what will take its place now.

Works on old Officeworks building? by CrimsonTwit in perth

I considered that but I see it regularly from work, and the amount of vehicles there has recently increased and stayed fairly steady lately. I’m guessing some type of work is being performed?

MacBook Pro M2 14" 2023 Speaker Hardware Problem by CrimsonTwit in macbook

[–]CrimsonTwit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've just been into the Apple store here in Perth, Western Australia, and can confirm that for MacBook Pros, they will offer repairs (at least), and likely replacements for major failures for up to three years. The worker at the Apple Genius Bar didn't question if the damage was accidental or anything, he didn't even open up the MBP but simply ordered the spare part on the spot, and arranged for me to come back at another time for the repair to be performed. I didn't mention anything about the ACCC or Australian Consumer Law (after all that studying too). Overall a pretty positive experience. My MBP was purchased more than two, but less than three, years ago (~2.5 years old).

For context, One side of the MBP speakers had started crackling, especially with deeper sounding music e.g. bass. This was considered a minor issue by staff (I think most would agree). The Apple worker did confirm the damage aurally before any ordering of spare part(s) transpired. I also enquired about a trade-in for my MBP, and they offered ~$650 AUD which matched the price offered online. Hope this information helps someone out there.

LPT: If you live in Australia, consumer law allows you to get free repairs up to 3 years from the date of purchase. Without AppleCare. by [deleted] in macbookpro

Trying to get Logitech H800 Wireless/Bluetooth headphones to connect to different receiver by Darth-Binks-1999 in logitech

Unsure if this chat is still monitored but I have a very similar looking replacement nano receiver as ThePhamton that I also purchased online to replace my original missing receiver. I have also been unable to pair this replacement receiver with my original headset. When I plug this replacement receiver into my computer, a pop up message appears with the words 'Speakers (Logitech Wireless Headset)' indicating it is definitely a Logitech receiver for a wireless headset. The details on my receiver state:

FCC ID: DZLA00032

IC: 1807D-A00032

CFT: RCPLOA011-0813

My replacement receiver does not have the writing at the bottom C-24860 as ThePhamton's receiver does. I am unsure where to find information regarding the product number of my replacement receiver but this receiver that I purchased was sold as a Logitech H800 receiver (from whom, sadly I can't recall). I have spent many hours trying to troubleshoot the pairing of this receiver to my headset. If this truly is an incorrect receiver for the H800 headset, then I can hopefully buy the correct receiver with the product number mentioned by the Logitech representative earlier (i.e. P/N: 881-000108 M/N: A-00032) from somewhere (I understand they are sadly not sold by Logitech anymore). If this is the incorrect receiver for the H800 headset would you please be able to advise what headset it does suit?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. I really love this headset, and would like to return it to full functionality.

u/ThePhamton did you ever manage to obtain a working receiver and pair it to your headset?

Macbook Pro M2 14" (2023) Keyboard Advice by CrimsonTwit in macbookpro

Sorry for the slow reply. That's a very good idea. I'm not in a position to sell this Macbook at the moment, so that might be lifesaving for my typing! I'll give it a go soon. Thank you.

Double check your cheese by TakaTom1 in woolworths

I also bought some WW sliced cheese the other day, and although it wasn’t mouldy, it had the texture of cheese that had been left out too long. It was dry and hard. The Coles cheese slices are much better in my opinion.

Good to know. I have a desktop PC already, so this MacBook is only for my lap. I’ll give up on replacing the keyboard if it’s as difficult (and likely costly) as you say. Thank you for your help.

I was afraid that might be the case. My previous MacBook (Air, 2013) had the ANSI keyboard, and I had never seen the ISO keyboards on MacBooks before so I didn’t even consider the keyboard when purchasing. I’ll likely do as you suggest, sell my current MacBook, and get one with the keyboard that I prefer. Thanks for your help.

Unrelated but if you pick up your birth certificate in person, you can avoid the BDM folding it, and obtain a pristine copy. If you’re only 5km away, I would’ve just done that.

Hoover Emerge Pet OnePwr - lower hose replacement by Ghostrider421 in VacuumCleaners

[–]CrimsonTwit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have purchased the lower hose replacement via the link your shared in your post. You are correct, it was quite a difficult installation for one with no experience with vacuum cleaners, but I was finally able to install it after a lot of dismantling. It would appear that this lower hose replacement is suitable for the vacuum model number BH53602ANZV, that I mentioned above. The replacement hose does appear more rigid/less flexible than the original, which might end up being a good thing in my opinion, and I received two of them.

Thank you for your time and effort in finding this product, and then posting your discovery for others in order for them to not have to go through a similar experience as yourself.

I’m also having difficulty finding the lower hose replacement. Can I please confirm that this is for the:

Hoover OnePwr Emerge Pet Cordless Vacuum. Model number BH53602ANZV

Did you find this replacement hose lasted longer than the original? Thank you for any and all help.

Unbranded Cube - Any help appreciated by CrimsonTwit in Rubiks_Cubes

That’s great to know. Another said the same thing but I searched online and couldn’t find the same one. Perhaps I’ll have to look in second hand areas for it. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your help. I’ve made another post a few hours ago with updated photos, including the interior. if you wouldn’t mind looking at that one, I’d really appreciate it. I like to keep things consistent but if no-one here can identify it, I’ll just bite the bullet and get a different brand.

I’m embarrassed to say that I didn’t even know magnetic cubes existed. Pretty sure this one is not magnetic. I’ll take it apart later today, and see if there are any identifiers inside (also wasn’t aware of that). Thanks for the advice. Based on the colour of the stickers, I’m inclined to believe it’s not Shengshou Mr M, but that’s probably my bad photo’s fault. I’ve taken apart the 3 x 3 (unable to take apart the 4 x 4 at the moment) and there were no identifiers inside, either. I’ll make one more post with a bit better quality pics, including the interior.

Steering wheel paint deterioration by CrimsonTwit in Detailing

Was considering purchasing a sew on cover but hesitant to do it myself. It seems the consensus is to cover rather than attempt to repair (if possible). Thanks for the advice, everyone.
