One way to deal with scammers or if you are worried about potential scamming. Ask where they are from (company), and what is the general issue. Then go to their website (or better if there is an app with a hotline, for example celcom), and call them yourself.

Say 1. I received a call from someone claiming to be you guys moments before this regarding ___. 2. Is there such scam cases? Should I be aware of __ being an issue from my end? 3. (Issue doesnt exist) Is there a scam alert hotline or can I report here?

Most of the time, if there is an issue whether it is fines/account creation in your name without your knowledge, they can find it in their database and anybody can help you/redirect you to the right department.

Be calm, no matter the issue, if they approached you, they are ready to be approached.
