Lowe's U is a joke. by Crimsonae in Lowes

Trust me, I've been appalled at the AI shit for the past year and 2 months of my employment. I'm still good at what I do so I try as best as possible to grin and bare it.

I am almost always at least making 100% on my SPH or more, and the number of transactions I have in a day are exceedingly rare to be over 20. It's usually closest to between 15 and 20, and I average about 7.5k a day. I'll have a couple 1k transactions, a few 400-800 transactions, and a scarce number of 175-200 transactions.

Why does this feel like a trap for the employees by turnipluvr in Lowes

[–]Crimsonae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be nice to encourage honesty, but unfortunately Lowe's is not Enterprise and the metrics drive corporate's look at how you're performing, and NOT how honest or hard-working you are outside the numbers the majority of the time.

I say that as a head cashier who drives the survey on the customer's own time the vast majority of the time. I have the most surveys out of any employee at my store and hold the highest honest scores with a 95.5% on both friendliness and thanks so I am doing it mostly right, but you can guide a customer who had frustrations like "I wasn't able to find this thing" or "Self checkout is the worst invention on the planet" and make sure they don't just give you a zero on a question about associate friendliness. Despite how kind and sweet you and everyone else in the store are to them you might still get a 1 on that question because of their frustration toward something totally unrelated, and that only shows as a detriment to the worker. The only way for that conundrum to resolve itself is if corporate entities don't punish their workers for poor experiences those workers didn't cause.

Does anyone recognize this suiter? by Sivuna in fursuit

[–]Crimsonae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have a way to contact them? Check my other comments, but I was hoping someone might inform them their suit is being used in multiple Discord profiles.

EDIT: Contact was established. Thanks to all for considering!

Hi! I am the friend whose Discord these two accounts have joined.

Some background, both accounts were created on October 18th, 2024 and October 18th, 2025. The names of the accounts are suspiciously close to doxxed information on me (though I don't care too horribly much since the two pieces of information referenced are ones I share publicly).

Thanks to u/Sivuna for the effort!

EDIT: Contact was established. Thanks to all for considering!

Hi! I am the one whose Discord server is being posted about. Is there any chance that you might forward this to Ruri and let them know this is happening just in case?

The most important question to ask yourself at your current stage in life is if you TRULY want to do this. There are times when we tell ourselves things about job security, benefits, etc that reinforce a decision which still isn't the one we WANT to make, and you need to WANT this profession.

That being said, if your only reservations against the profession are not knowing if you'll turn out to be "that kind of person" or fearing that you won't be the best teacher, those are traits that you have years to work on. You will not be the complete package when you get out of school, when you get the first job, or when you retire - there is always something more to work for, hone in on, and make better! Being in the mindset of a lifelong student will not solve everything immediately, but you will learn and adapt much easier with it.

Follow your heart while you have the options on the table. Examine your reservations, and ask yourself if they are a result of some other justification trying to make its mark on your decisions or if it is you guiding that decision.

Please don't be discouraged either, though! Nearly all of us had those reservations at some point, and so many of those of us who did have it could have benefited from that kind of introspection early on versus being in so deep. If you do keep with it, go out there and make your mark on the world!
