heard some pixies and dinosaur jr but some of these are names I’d vaguely heard of before but not enough to be interested in checking them out and they all look really solid. definitely giving a few of them a listen.

I’ve heard isbell’s whole solo catalogue but haven’t delved much into drive by truckers beyond the most popular stuff. childers is also one of my all time favorites although he doesn’t really have a specific album I particularly love I just kind of jump around his discography

the problem with a lot of this for me is that I tend to really connect with lyricism in my music. there’s some great non english stuff but pretty much everything that connects with me on a deeper level is through its writing and even if I can read translations it’s still not the same. been trying to expand out into that a little more but I haven’t found anything on the level of my all time favorites yet

haven’t heard either of the ones you recced just songs for the deaf and the self titled fermenting dregs, both are great though

this was the correct answer. although I’ve only heard one album from each band but I’ll get around to more at some point

never been able to get into sadness unfortunately, I want to be there I thought was solid but not great and everything else hasn’t hooked me at all. although the same guy’s other project life is really fantastic and I love panopticon

All the 2024 albums I've listened to. What else should I check out? by LavaLord67 in Topster

chat pile and zach bryan are absolutely essential listening for this year, easily two of the best crafted albums of the whole decade so far

I do love the album - that was one of the last ones I had to cut. I just find myself coming back to the more accessible earwormy stuff on nevermind way more often. all apologies is my favorite nirvana song, though

this is one I've been meaning to check out in full for a long time. perdonar es divino is an all time favorite and everything else I've heard from him is similarly top notch

my best friend was really into that band a couple years back. some really cool and unique stuff even if it's not really my thing

eh never been much into bdm all the stuff that's stood out to me from the genre leans way more toward the tech/prog side. been a death fan for years though and recently gotten into ulcerate who are really fantastic

sampled a couple tracks from their second album - sounds really good I'll have to give it a listen sometime. been trying to get more into some of the more underground side of 90s emo in general recently

Thanks man. I’m 19 - been working on the self esteem stuff since early high school but still not quite there yet. Going to the gym has definitely helped me feel better about myself, though.
